Today we’d like to introduce you to M.B. Danner-Rucker
Hi M.B., we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
A few years ago, I began working on designs I thought would be great for home decor items such as shower curtains, bedding, tablecloths, etc. I began to look into the print on demand market and saw that not only was it ever growing, but with it you also didn’t need to worry about housing inventory. I began putting my works up for sale on sites such as Zazzle, Spreadshirt, and Redbubble. In the last year I began migrating my shops to dedicated e-commerce sites. My current stores are:
www.aboverubiesp31.com with faith-inspired home decor items.
www.jubilosa.com that provides home accessories and apparel items for women.
www.michiganedition.store (coming soon) features apparel and accessories dedicated to cities, streets, etc. from the D to the U.P.
All my stores fall under the Danner-Rucker umbrella which is named in dedication to the family names of my late parents.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being that I’m a one-woman band, there have definitely been struggles in juggling many hats, mainly in marketing which thankfully I will be receiving help with soon. Despite the headaches, it’s worth it to have the opportunity to something I absolutely love.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I create designs for made to order home decor and apparel. The collection I’m most proud of is my Love Letter products for Above Rubies P31 that were inspired by my Christian faith. My goal is to expand this collection to include more varieties and colors.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I would say all credit for my inspiration and staying the course goes to my relationship with God. I’ve had to lean on my faith many times, especially in dealing with the loss of my parents. But He has kept me sane and helped me to continue to do something that would make my parents proud. I have to also thank my family who always seem to give an encouraging word just when I need it.
