Conversations with Lee Ann Walker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lee Ann Walker.

Hi Lee Ann, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always had a passion for crafting and expressing my creativity. I started teaching crafting classes and sharing my crafting knowledge and skills about 5 years ago just for fun and had no idea my business was forming. I enjoyed teaching crafting classes and formed my business around that. Now I travel all around Michigan sharing my classes at art studios, breweries, libraries, wineries, boutique stores, farms and so many more fun places.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a semi smooth journey. I followed my dreams to open my own store and operated my store with 53 crafting and handmade vendors for a little over a year, that was fun but a struggle. After making the difficult decision to close my store and refocus my attention to crafting classes my business expanded quickly.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I teach a variety of crafting classes, soap making, candle mixology, resin and pressed flower art, jewelry designs, macrame art and so much more.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I feel blessed and so lucky to share my classes with everyone in Michigan.
