Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren & Douglas Lehue

Hi Lauren & Douglas , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Douglas and I had our first daughter in September 2017 where we decided to started documenting her life through our Cannon80D. At the time we were refurbishing furniture and doing a lot of home decorating projects that we were photographing as well. We were hired all over our little town and soon people were just dropping off furniture at our doorstep! It was just us, our little business (LeHue’s Reuse) and our baby girl. In the summer of 2018 my bestfriend asked us to photograph her engagement and somehow after we posted them everyone started asking us to take their photos as well! I was able to become a stay at home mom and run our refurbishing/consulting company and started managing our books as new photographers! Soon we found out we were pregnant again and welcomed our second daughter in August 2019. We worked so so hard and we loved every second of our crazy schedule and two babies under 2!
Over the years we have made our clients into our friends, we have networked to collaborate with small business’s everywhere and have endured what every small business owner fears, hardship. We have persevered and have always tried to encourage our photography community where we can. To this day we are photographing every precious life moment that we can. Everything from surprise engagement, weddings, newborns, family, seniors, anniversary’s and everything in-between!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been smooth, but we’ve always had each other! Being a small business owner isn’t for the weak! You will have slow seasons. but that’s just it, it’s a season! Along the way we’ve had some incredible mentors to lean on and for that we are so grateful. Amber Marie, Jessi Rogers, and Leah Dunn have always been a phone call away for us and we wouldn’t be here without their love and support.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Douglas and I are a husband and wife photography team. We work together to make your special event run as smooth as possible. Capturing every little smile and moment so that you never forget. We have been together for 12 years and married almost 9! We have been working together for 6 years and truly read each other when we enter a session.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We love to do styled shoots with multiple different photographers! Getting a different perspective is so important when you’re taking photos. Sharing work, tips and ideas with other artists is so special and crucial to growth. Sharing our photos on instagram and facebook, recommending us to your friends and families and simply printing your photos is the best way to support us!
