Conversations with Jessica Plaisier

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Plaisier.

Hi Jessica, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
10 years ago we saw a need in our community to host an annual market to feature vendors who sell the most unique antiques, quality handmade, and other specialty goods. We now host 3 events every year. Spring, Fall and Christmas which are all 2 day events so everyone has a chance to shop and support local business.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We have always welcomed on challenges. Sometimes it was weather but that never stopped us from preparing better for our vendors and customers. I would say the worst obstacle was when we had to cancel our markets in 2020 due to the state shutdown. We were heartbroken, but the following year our vendors and customers came back in full support. Beyond greatfull for that and showing our community growth!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We plan and coorodinate with vendors to curate a shop all market for the public. I along with my partners Karen and Faith run the events and all play an important role to make it successful.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
We are a juried market that finds a great variety of vintage and antiques, artisan handmade, clothing for adults and kids, repurposed and second hand items, seasonal decor, food and drinks and live music too! Our vendors, staff, and promoters work hard to make it a memorable and fun family event for the community.
