Conversations with Jasmine Hobson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Hobson.

Hi Jasmine , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey has really been about finding strength in unexpected places. I went to art school in California where I earned my undergraduate degree in Fashion Marketing and Management. Later I pursued my MBA and a certification in Cybersecurity. I have always loved both the arts and tech, two worlds that seem so different but for me they have always been deeply connected. I have wanted to be involved in both in a meaningful way.

In December of last year my life changed forever when I lost my son to sudden cardiac death in his sleep. Out of that loss I founded Noah’s Lite Foundation. It came from a place of lived experience, I am healing every day, and I wanted to create something that could help others heal too. Through the foundation I am opening an expressive arts therapy studio, a space where people can find comfort, community, and creative ways to process grief and life’s challenges.

At the same time I have continued to pursue my love for technology. I am an active member of the Black Tech Saturdays community which has been an incredible space for learning, collaboration, and building in tech. I also launched Tactfuel, a platform dedicated to helping people gain digital skills, explore AI education, and find new ways to monetize their talents. My mission with Tactfuel is to make tech more approachable and empowering, especially for those who may feel overlooked in that space.

It has not been easy balancing healing, building, and pushing forward, but every part of my journey has taught me resilience and reinforced my belief that both art and technology have the power to transform lives.
Looking ahead I want to see Noah’s Lite Foundation grow into a full community hub for expressive arts and heart health awareness while also expanding Tactfuel to help more people build futures they are excited about. If there is one thing I have learned it is that even through pain your story can become a light for someone else.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. Losing my son so suddenly is the hardest thing I have ever faced and there are still days when the grief feels overwhelming. At the same time I have had to balance being a mother, keeping myself grounded, and pouring into projects that mean so much to me.

On the professional side building both a nonprofit and a business from the ground up comes with challenges like navigating funding, finding the right resources, and learning to wear many different hats at once. There were moments when I felt stuck and moments when I questioned whether I could keep going.

What I have learned is that struggle often reveals strength you did not know you had. Every obstacle has taught me resilience and given me a deeper sense of purpose. Even when the road is tough I remind myself why I started, to honor my son, to create healing spaces for others, and to show my children that even through pain you can build something meaningful

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work lives at the intersection of art, technology, and healing. Through Noah’s Lite Foundation I focus on creating expressive arts spaces where people can find community and support as they heal. The foundation was born from my own lived experience and I am most proud of building something that not only honors my son but also helps others discover comfort and strength through creativity.

On the tech side I am the founder of Tactfuel, a platform that helps people gain digital skills, explore artificial intelligence, and learn how to create new streams of income. I am also an active member of the Black Tech Saturdays community which allows me to collaborate and grow alongside other innovators.

What I am most proud of is that I am able to pour into both of my passions at the same time. I am creating spaces in art that help people heal and at the same time building tools in tech that help people thrive. What sets me apart is that I do not see art and technology as separate worlds. I bring them together in a way that is both human and practical. My journey has taught me resilience and purpose and I think that comes through in the way I lead my work. Everything I do is grounded in the belief that even in pain there is power and that creativity and innovation can truly transform lives.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
What I would like to share is that healing and growth are not linear. Every day I am still learning, still rebuilding, and still finding new ways to honor my son’s light. I want people to know that no matter what they are going through their story still has value and their journey can become a source of strength for others.

I also want to invite readers to stay connected with me, whether through Noah’s Lite Foundation, our expressive arts therapy studio, or Tactfuel. Both projects are rooted in community and in the belief that we are stronger when we share knowledge, creativity, and healing with one another.

If there is one message I hope people take away it is this: even in your darkest moments you still carry light, and sharing that light can change lives.
