Today we’d like to introduce you to Jah Youmans
Hi Jah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
As a kid I was always the “weird” or eccentric kid, and early on it used to make me feel bad until I started embracing it and understood that God made me this way for a reason. As soon as I started to embrace it, those same exact people who called me weird started to do the exact things they called me weird for. Fast-forward to now i’m changing the world one weirdo at a time as I say.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not, it was soooo hard and sometimes still is. Helping people embrace their true weirdness is the challenging part because for so long the word “weird” has had a negative connotation but if you actually look it up in the dictionary it literally has nothing negative about it. And I understand, in the beginning it will be hard because for so long we have been put into this box of what the world wants us to be and I totally understand how no one wants to be looked at as an outcast. But if being your true self helps you stand out from everyone else EMBRACE IT you are literally 1 of NONE.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am the CEO owner and operator of The Weirdo Collection I ship all orders, make designs, count inventory etc. All myself everything goes through me. I’m definitely looking to hire some people here in the near future as my business grows more and more. I specifically want to hire kids from my hometown to create more jobs for the youth and teach them entrepreneurship and different trades they can do.
Currently i am know as “Jahdavinci” or “The Weirdo Guy” but I honestly don’t want to be the face of The Weirdo Collection, I want it to be its own thing. If you pay attention I don’t even follow myself back on the instagram page because it’s not about me.
I am currently most proud of have over 33,000 happy customers. That may seem small but when I first started I had 0 and its one step closer to help making a positive impact on the world.
Weirdo is Weirdo it sets itself apart.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is SELF measured. I am success now because I am doing what God called me to do and impacting lives for the better everyday. Don’t let social media define success for you, set a goal and measure it yourself.
