Today we’d like to introduce you to Hope McCleary.
Hi Hope, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My Pilates journey started simply because I fell in love with how it made me feel. What began as a personal passion quickly turned into something I knew I wanted to share with others. I completed my Balanced Body certifications and immersed myself in learning everything I could, not just about movement, but about helping people feel stronger, more confident, and more connected to their bodies.
Today, I teach over 30 classes a week across multiple studios in the GTA and have built an incredible community through social media, where I share workouts, education, and my everyday life as an instructor. I’ve also had the opportunity to partner with brands that align with my values, which has allowed me to inspire people both in and outside of the studio.
One of the things I’m most proud of is creating a welcoming environment where everyone, regardless of experience, feels empowered to move. Watching clients gain confidence, recover from injuries, or simply find joy in movement is what keeps me motivated every day.
Pilates has completely changed my life, and I’m excited to continue growing, teaching, and finding new ways to make movement more accessible and inspiring for others.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges when I first started was balancing multiple careers while building my Pilates business. I work full-time in commercial real estate while also teaching Pilates part on weekends and evenings, creating content, and continuing my education. It takes a lot of discipline, early mornings, and late nights.
Another challenge has been overcoming self-doubt and learning not to compare my journey to others. Social media can make it seem like success happens overnight, but behind every milestone are countless hours of work that people don’t always see.
I’ve also learned that growth often comes from stepping outside of your comfort zone, whether that’s teaching your first class, putting yourself out there online, or saying yes to opportunities that feel intimidating. Every challenge has helped shape me into a more confident instructor and entrepreneur, and I’m grateful for each lesson along the way.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m certified Pilates instructor who teaches over 30 classes a week across multiple studios in the GTA. I specialize in creating challenging yet approachable classes that help clients build strength, improve mobility, and leave feeling empowered. My goal is to make every class welcoming, whether it’s someone’s very first session or they’re an experienced Pilates enthusiast.
Beyond teaching, I love educating and inspiring others through social media by sharing workouts, tips, and an authentic look at life as an instructor. Building a community has become one of the most rewarding parts of my career, and I’m grateful to work with brands that align with my passion for health and wellness.
What I’m most proud of is the impact I’ve had on my clients. Seeing someone gain confidence, recover from an injury, or discover a genuine love for movement is incredibly fulfilling. I believe what sets me apart is the energy and care I bring to every class. I strive to create an environment where clients feel supported, challenged, and excited to come back, not just for the workout, but for the experience and community we’ve built together.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I believe the most important quality behind my success is consistency. Success isn’t built from one great class or one viral post, it’s built by showing up every day with passion, dedication, and a willingness to keep learning. Whether I’m teaching early mornings, creating content, or continuing my education, I try to give my best in everything I do.
Equally important is authenticity. I never want people to feel like they’re stepping into an intimidating environment. I strive to create a space where clients feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to move in a way that works for their bodies. Building genuine relationships and helping people gain confidence through movement is what motivates me every day.
At the end of the day, I believe success isn’t measured by numbers, it’s measured by the impact you have on others. If someone leaves my class feeling stronger, more confident, or simply happier than when they walked in, that’s what I consider a success.
