Today we’d like to introduce you to Gena Sayers.
Hi Gena, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
When I was a little girl, I had no idea how many hats I would be wearing as an adult. My vocation is direct support with differently-abled adults. I am now a certified crisis intervention systems trainer in the behavioral health field. Day jobs aside, I also write, create art and jewelry, and read tarot for several long time clients. Ordained Minister, Postpartum Doula, and spiritual advisor. All of this has lead to the creation of The Bone Path: A Wild Woman’s Initation. The Bone Path is heavily inspired by the wild woman Archetypes found in The Women Who Run With Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes, the psychological work of Carl Jung, and 30+ years of occult research and experiences. And, of course, my mother, the first Wild Woman I ever met. The Bone Path is free for anyone interested over on Gumroad. The goal is to inspire as many women as possible to reach in and pull their inner Wild Woman to the surface kicking and screaming. At the end of this 7 phase initiation, Wild Women will receive guidance in creating their own Wild Woman mythos, one based on their individual experiences, suffering, and joy. That way, future generations of women can read archetypal stories from the distant past as well as the more recent past. We find ourselves in these stories, and I believe it is important to add to them.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There are always bumps along the way, and I can say that I always knew I would go in this direction but that’s not completely honest. I genuinely hope to inspire as many women as humanly possible to become the Wild Women we are all meant to be. There are lessons in the stories, medicine, and I needed to go through my own struggles to get to where I need to be today. We grow through what we go through, or we stagnate and rot. I choose growth.

I don’t have a niche. I am an eclectic compilation of caregiving, artistry, and creative writing. My current line of jewelry, The Goddess Collection, is available in a shop in the village. My art is hanging in several states. My books, Witch Hex Thyself: A Dark Mirror Grimoire and High With Jack: Pandemic Poetry, Prose and Photography are available at Barnes & Noble online stores. Any big plans?
I am currently looking into starting my own Church, one which would honor the tenets of The Bone Path, and be a safe haven for women and children. It is difficult to predict the future these days, even in the circles I travel in, but the ultimate goal is Matriarchy.
