Today we’d like to introduce you to Esther Rehema.
Hi Esther, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been a creative at the core of who I am. I started posting content back in my senior year of high school. I loved sharing my makeup looks online just for fun, not really realizing it was something I could turn into a career.
Fast forward to now, and I love sharing the creative projects I’m working on, my silly lil outfit of the day videos, and everything I’m learning as I navigate this ever-evolving creative industry.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m a girl with multiple passions and interests, and in the beginning, I struggled to figure out where to put all my energy. Through a lot of trial and error, I realized that all of my creative passions could coexist—I just didn’t need to monetize all of them. Some things can simply stay hobbies, and there’s so much freedom in that.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I create content around my life, fashion, and beauty tips for Black girls. I’m proud of the community I’ve built—and continue to build—online.
Recently, I hosted a creative gathering in Chicago for Black women to experience more joy, embrace playfulness, and tap into their creativity. Being able to curate such an intimate space was incredibly fulfilling, and it’s something I hope to do more of throughout my career.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Allowing myself to experience joy has become so important to me. There’s always so much happening in life and so many things outside of our control, but we can control what we choose to consume and how we spend our time. I try to stay aware of what’s going on around me while also making space for play, rest, and joy.
Life is too short not to let yourself experience joy. For me, joy looks like spending time with my girlfriend, yapping with a friend for hours, soaking up the sun, and making time to be playful. Those little moments are what make life feel full.
