Conversations with Christopher Cosmos

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Cosmos.

Hi Christopher, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was raised and spent my entire life in West Michigan, in a town called Lowell, just outside of Grand Rapids, and after high school went to the University of Michigan. When I graduated college – in a scene perhaps not unlike the ending of Good Will Hunting – I packed all my things into my car and moved to Los Angeles where I worked first as an executive at a leading film production company, then as a screenwriter.

After eight years in Los Angeles, I moved home to Michigan and settled again in Grand Rapids, and sold and had published my first novel. My latest, titled “Island of Ghosts and Dreams,” is coming out on March 3rd, from Pegasus and Simon & Schuster, and is available to purchase wherever books are sold! I especially like to promote trying to purchase from some of the fantastic indie bookstores we have in West Michigan. Schuler Books on 28th Street was my childhood bookstore, where I used to go as a kid and my love of storytelling really began, and they will have signed copies for anyone that might be interested in checking it out!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a Black List and produced screenwriter, as well as a Bestselling author, and my last novel, “Young Conquerors,” was written, designed, printed, and published by an all-Michigan team.

My latest novel, “Island of Ghosts and Dreams,” which was recently featured on The Today Show’s list of Best Books of 2026 / 52 Books We Can’t Wait to Read list, has been published by Pegasus and Simon & Schuster on March 3rd, 2026, and is available anywhere books are sold!

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
The best resource for me as a writer is reading the work of others, as much as I can, and my favorite “industry” podcast is Plot Twist – hosted by Soman Chanaini and my friend Victoria Aveyard!
