Conversations with Brayden Lopez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brayden Lopez.  

Hi Brayden, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always been surrounded by music growing up; my earliest memories are sitting down by the family computer and listening to Eminem, Jay Z, Dr. Dre, and Wiz Khalifa. Around the age of 6, I started writing songs, they weren’t great, but they were a start, 6 years later, I started to record verses, no beat; they were recorded on a phone, once again, a small step for a brighter future, it wasn’t until 2021 I started recording, I had contracted Covid-19, along with the rest of my family and barely survived, after my encounter I decided to stop putting this off and recorded my debut single, gods & monsters. 

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been tough; in the middle of recording gods & monsters, my grandma had passed a few rooms away from where I was recording. I had also had different friends drop me as time went on, and as I had gotten more immersed in the music. I’ve had some issues pushing my music, I’ve reached out to a couple different people with no response, but it’s not all bad; something great will come someday. 

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an alternative rapper/singer/songwriter, For the most part, I’m known for My debut single titled “Gods & Monsters,” Personally, I believe the things that set my sound apart from everyone else is the way I incorporate punk rock and trap sounds, with rap verses, I’m most proud of this project I’m currently working on; titled “All Falls Down” 

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
There are 4 people I want to highlight, KA$H: An artist from Flint who introduced me to the people I work with today 

Ay Jay Em: another artist from flint who introduced me to MC CUBED and for the most part helped me get my footing in the industry 

MC CUBED: An artist and producer from Detroit, someone who I consider a close friend and who mixes and produces a bulk of my music 

J Moose: A Vocalist & Drummer from Southern California who helped me find out what sound I wanted to work with for my next project; and for the foreseeable future
