Today we’d like to introduce you to Bianca Martin.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey started almost ten years ago when I was scouted as a fashion model. That opportunity took me to some incredible places—Chicago, L.A., New York City, Miami—and gave me a real zest for life early on. Traveling for work at a young age taught me to love different cultures, cuisines, and ways of living.
About seven years into that world, I realized that Detroit was where I wanted to grow roots. I got married, started a family, and slowly found myself drawn to life behind the camera instead of in front of it. That’s when I started working as a social media marketer.
To my surprise, that path took off even faster than modeling. Although eventually, both passions found a way to interweave. Brands started reaching out for UGC, product seeding, and affiliate campaigns. Now, nearly a decade in, my platform has evolved into a space focused on food, family fun, and authentic storytelling. It’s been such a joy collaborating with businesses all across Metro Detroit—and the love I’ve felt here at home has been so real.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. It’s been filled with a lot of identity shifts and moments of imposter syndrome—feeling guilty for wanting to redefine who I was. One of the hardest parts was choosing to pivot from a modeling career into content creation so I could slow down and prioritize building my family. Even though it was a decision I made for myself, it still felt like a loss, and something I had to grieve.
And content creation hasn’t been linear either. There are seasons where I’m landing deals consistently, and other times where the inbox is quiet for weeks. It can feel like a hamster wheel or a constant chase, which gets exhausting. But even with all the ups and downs, I genuinely enjoy what I do, and I’m really grateful I chose this path.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a Detroit-based lifestyle content creator, and I specialize in showcasing all the fun our city has to offer, one frame (and one bite!) at a time. Lately, I’ve doubled down on partnering with local restaurants, breweries, and small businesses to spotlight Metro Detroit’s best social spots. Whether it’s a new restaurant in the city or a splash pad adventure in the ’burbs, my goal is to bring families along for the ride—kids included—so you can discover Detroit without worrying about a babysitter.
You’ll also catch me in the UGC and product-seeding world, creating thumb-stopping content that feels honest (no stiff promo here!). What sets me apart is my knack for weaving real-life moments and unique voice into every project. I’m most proud of turning my own adventures into a resource for others: helping families, younger or older, see that Michigan’s best memories happen when we all get out there and explore together.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Risk isn’t something to fear, in my opinion it’s the bridge between “what is” and “what could be.” My biggest leap was leaving modeling to launch my marketing career. swapping someone else’s green light for full control over my schedule, clients, and rates. Every “no” and scary pivot became a stepping-stone to real independence. Betting on myself has been my best investment, unlocking the freedom to build a career that fits my life, not someone else’s timeline.
