Today we’d like to introduce you to Bell MacKenzie.
Hi Bell, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always loved being creative just like my mom & my nana. I’ve always been the girl taking pictures, making videos, putting together outfits, decorating, and finding a way to make the little things in life feel special. But the more I started sharing online, the more I realized I didn’t just want to post things because they looked cute- I wanted there to actually be a reason behind what I was sharing.
I’m 22, and I’m in this really fun but also really weird stage of life where I’m figuring out adulthood in real time. I definitely don’t have everything figured out, and honestly, I don’t want to pretend that I do. I want my content to feel like you’re talking to a friend who is figuring it out right alongside you.
I love sharing fashion, makeup, cooking, home decor, travel, golf, baseball, and just little moments from my life. But the biggest part of who I am is my relationship with Jesus.
I want someone to find me because they liked my outfit or thought a video was funny, but stay because they feel encouraged, understood, or maybe even become curious about who Jesus is.
I’m still growing as a creator and figuring out exactly what this will look like, but I think that’s what makes me excited about it. I don’t want to build a platform around having the perfect life- I want to build one around finding purpose and joy in the life God has already given me living for Him.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I know who I want my content to represent- I’m just still figuring out what that looks like in my own voice.
One of my biggest challenges with content creation has honestly been finding my voice. I know that at the end of the day, I want my life and my platform to represent Jesus. That part is really clear to me. The harder part has been figuring out how to do that in a way that feels natural and actually feels like me.
I love fashion, makeup, cooking, travel, baseball, DIYs, hosting, gift giving, gardening, home decor and just sharing the fun little moments of my life. Learning everyday how that all fits together!!
Sometimes it IS sitting down and talking about my faith. Other times, it’s the way I talk about friendships, how I treat people, how I handle comparison, or simply showing gratitude for the life God has given me.
I’m still figuring out the balance between creating content people genuinely want to watch and never watering down the most important part of who I am. I definitely don’t have that completely figured out yet, but I actually think finding that voice has been one of the most meaningful parts of creating content. I can see growth documents over time!!
I want to be a creator where, if you stick around long enough, it becomes really clear who my life is rooted in.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I work at The Christman Company in Pre-Bond Marketing, and I’ve really loved getting to work in a role where I can combine creativity with the construction industry. A lot of what I do involves helping tell the story of who we are, what we do, and why our team is the right fit for a project.
Something I’m really proud of is that I’m not afraid to bring creativity into spaces where you might not necessarily expect it. I love taking something that could feel very technical or corporate and figuring out how to make it more personal, interesting, and easy for people to connect with.
I’m also someone who really wants to keep growing and be pushed outside of my comfort zone. I want to be the person who says yes, tries new things, takes chances, and isn’t afraid to learn as I go. I know I won’t grow by always choosing what’s comfortable, so I’m excited to keep challenging myself, meeting new people, and seeing where God opens doors along the way.
I think what sets me apart is that I genuinely love people. Whether I’m working professionally, creating content, or just meeting someone new, I’m always interested in their story and what matters to them. I care a lot about making people feel seen and included, and my faith plays a huge role in that.
I’m also currently a full-time graduate student at Cornerstone University, where I’m working toward my MBA.
I’m still early in my career, so I definitely have a lot to learn, but I’m really proud that I’ve allowed myself to explore different things instead of feeling like I need to have my entire life figured out already. Between my professional career, full time grad school and content creation, I’m learning that some of my biggest strengths are creativity, storytelling, and connecting with people- and I’m excited to see where God uses those.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
People make me happy. Family time, quality time with the people I love, and getting to genuinely connect with others are probably when I feel the most like myself. I really believe one of the reasons God put me on this earth is to love people well. I love being the friend or family member who shows up, even when it isn’t convenient, makes people feel included, and celebrates the people around me.
I’m also happiest when I’m creating, working hard, trying something new, taking risks, and saying yes- even when something scares me a little. I never want to get so comfortable that I stop growing.
I also think being joyful works almost backwards from what the world tells us. We’re told that the more we do for ourselves, the happier we’ll be, but I’ve found the opposite to be true. When we serve, give, show up for people, and take the focus off ourselves, we somehow walk away feeling more filled up. I think that’s one of the coolest things about following Jesus- He teaches us that a full life isn’t found in constantly asking, “What can I get?” but instead, “What can I give?”
