Conversations with Angel Preni

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Preni.

Hi Angel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
My father passed away when I was 10. Growing up without a father was tough. He left my family a restaurant I felt like that was my calling I always say I didn’t pick this life it chose me. I began running the family business and that motivated me to do more. I then started the dmotowndeli food truck and quickly became popular throughout Detroit

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
To be honest it wasn’t easy. It was a bumpy road, I felt like everything for me came harder. I’ve had a lot of roadblocks I overcame

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was the problem child. Having a single mother raising 2 boys and running a restaurant was tough. I always knew school wasn’t for me and I wanted to fill the shoes of my father. At an early age, I would skip school and come to my mom‘s restaurant to Work. Are used to be in the cafeteria selling kids’ corn beef sandwiches and bragging about my family business.
