Conversations with Amber Ware

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Ware.

Hi Amber, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I knew I wanted to become an entrepreneur and be my own boss somewhere along my journey. Everything began with taking an eyelash technician class in Detroit, Mi and from there I quit a job that was paying up to 60,000 a year to begin my “being my own boss” journey. I started off not being the fastest at this new trade, but I then kept practicing on close friends and family. After that, it took off and I started doing lashes out of my apartment then next into a salon suite by the name of Ennovy’s. My 1st business was called “Fabulash’d by Am” After time went on, I realized I was more so in this for money and the passion was dying down. I stopped the end of 2017.

In the beginning of February 2018 I began  brainstorming ideas and I thought to myself “Michigan people really go through all weather types and still have to make a way to take care of their households… Michigan Girls and Guys Hustle Harder…” I sat up and then realized that I liked how it sounded. I reached out to someone I was working with marketing-wise with Fabulash’d by Am and gave him the slogan and here is where I birthed MGHH (Michigan Girls & Guys Hustle Harder). A clothing brand and motto for the state of Michigan.

With MGHH we carry every piece of clothing you could imagine. T-shirts, hoodies, dad hats, phone cases, tote bags. You name it we had it or could get it. Here I learned and gained so much knowledge and skills that I was able to help others. From marketing tactics to promoting and beyond. I also created an e-book to pass on knowledge to other upcoming t-shirts brands to help give them the guidance that I never had. Along with a virtual t-shirt class that I hosted via SYKPE.

All in the midst of pushing my clothing brand I was in the presence of a lot of other black-owned businesses that were up and coming. I wanted to create a space where we can collectively come together in one place & give the public access to all we offer. I then decided that I would host a pop-up shop and call it “The Boss Affair”. This pop-up shop showed up in many different forms. From indoors to outdoors and being displayed in Crossroads mall during Black Friday weekend in 2020. I began hosting the pop-up shops in 2018 and ended in 2020.

After time went on, I was interested in the content creator/influencer role and decided with all I know as of current I would like to check out the field. Within this role, I also touched bases with my musical side and persuade that as well.

As of current, I am already onto my 2023 ventures, and I must say I am ecstatic to share with the world when it is time.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being easy or smooth? Of course not. Anything rewarding is never a easy journey but is worth it. To stay self-motivated is a huge challenge. Some days you don’t feel like doing anything and some days you feel mentally drained. Also, you have to learn to take days off when it becomes too much. Learning to recharge is a good thing and it sometimes can be an obstacle for one who doesn’t know when to take a break.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I currently create content and help others with their content as well. I am known for operating a clothing brand and hosting pop up shops in which I’m very proud of because of all the great recognition and doors it opened for me. I’ve made amazing connections along the way. One thing that sets me apart is wanting to be a helping vessel no matter how people want to view me. I know my potential and how valuable it is.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
As content creation rises and it’s being displayed on many platforms. I see a lot of us being forced in a sense to being in this field. Only because it’s being so heavily pushed upon us on all social media. With the economy being structured as it is and content creating offering payouts to just show things that you love to do. I don’t see why this won’t become a part of our daily lives if it hasn’t already. I do see this field becoming very lucrative. Many businesses are going to need content creators/ influencers not just marketers to help push their businesses. Big-time brands are inviting influencers to create content at their events or sending promo packages to push out onto their platforms that have thousands of followers to market their brands. This will become the new wave over the next 5-10 years.
