Conversations with Amber Lauer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Lauer.

Hi Amber, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was interested in sales my whole life. Beginning as a kid selling my paintings and drawings to the neighbors for $5 a piece 😂 I’ve always had a thing where I just loved to think of creative ways to make money, not realizing it was the just the beginning of my sales journey.

I’ve been working in sales for the last 20 years. I started with AT&T corporate sales at 18 and was trained how to professionally sell through their sales program. They were strong on customer service, and that’s where I developed my love for truly helping people. They made me understand that selling is to be educated about a certain product that you know exactly how that product can help someone. From there I went onto leasing apartments for 6 years at a large apartment community in Ypsilanti, MI. That’s where my now husband and I first got a taste of working together.
He moved onto a management position, and I ended up leaving a year after having my first child. I wanted to grow my family and just couldn’t do it while working as much as I was. I quit in December 2014, and had our second child December 2015.
Danny went and got his Real Estate license in 2016 and after he did that, everyone started asking me when I was going to get licensed.
I ended up going to the Michigan institute of Real Estate in Spring 2017 and hung my license at my first brokerage November 2017.

I had a pretty decent first year as I really enjoyed hosting open houses. Being able to welcome people into these beautiful homes that could potentially be theirs? What a dream! I had so much fun inviting them into what could be theirs.
I had to be cautious of the amount of business I was taking in because I was still taking care of a 3 and 5 year old and wanted to be a very present mother as well.
To have more consistent income, my husband took a job at UWM as an account executive to get a little inside of the mortgage world.
I stayed working our Real Estate business and taking care of the kids.
After 2 years business in real estate got so busy, that I couldn’t do it on my own. Danny left UWM and joined forces with me in 2020. That’s where the Lauer Power Team came to life.
We have been juggling parenthood and Real Estate ever since, and it couldn’t be better. The girls are watching our growth and seeing the ups and downs, but watching us as we laugh through the punches. We praise the Lord every day for the life he’s given us. Jesus is the foundation within our house and business.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not! It’s definitely a rollercoaster working with your spouse. Every disagreement helps us understand each other better. Even after knowing each other 19 years, there are still things that we are getting to know about one another. There have been times we have almost lost everything we worked for during a slow year we had in 2023. We were able to come together and have the best 2024 and 2025.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a Realtor on a Husband wife team. As of now we work for Remax Dream Properties in Northville/Livonia MI.

We use our faith to guide us through transactions with our clients. We make sure the house they’re buying is the right house for what they need. Never rushing our clients into a home they don’t love.
Attention to detail is big as well as customer service. We make sure to always have one of us available for our clients pretty much at all times of the day. Think of us as your personal home concierge service. Answering questions, and showing homes whenever our client needs. That’s why we are careful with the amount of business we take at once. We want to make sure to always be able to provide that level of service to our clients.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Customer service is huge. I want to see smiles all around the table on the buy and sell side. Thats how I get the amount of referrals that I do.
