Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Habrowski.
Hi Amanda, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m a Detroit native who’s spent over 20 years in radio and media. My journey took me from Detroit to Fort Wayne, Portland, and Las Vegas before bringing me back home. Along the way I’ve worn a lot of hats, on-air personality, content creator, voice-over artist, and reality TV personality. Today I’m hosting mornings on ALT 98.7 in Detroit, and it feels like one of those full-circle moments where I get to do what I love in the city that helped shape me.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Yes and no. In a lot of ways it’s been smooth because I’ve always had a clear passion for what I wanted to do. But it’s also been bumpy trying to figure out life while building a career at the same time. I moved around a lot for radio opportunities and spent many years doing it on my own, away from family and close friends. Outside of a few FaceTimes and phone calls, a lot of the journey was really learning things through experience and figuring it out as I went.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’ve worked in radio and media for over 20 years and what I do really comes down to creating connections. I host a morning radio show, create content, do voice-over work, and build experiences that entertain people and make them feel like they’re part of something. I’m probably most known for my energy, personality, and ability to connect with people in an authentic way, whether that’s on the air, through social media, or out in the community.
I’m most proud of my persistence and the relationships I’ve built along the way. I’ve always believed that how you treat people matters, and many of those relationships have helped shape opportunities throughout my career and life. What sets me apart is my energy and adaptability. I’ve learned how to keep going through pressure, deadlines, unexpected challenges, and life surprises while still showing up as myself.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I think relationships matter more than people realize. For me, networking was never about trying to “get” something from someone. It was about building genuine connections, being consistent, staying in touch, and treating people well throughout every stage of my career. A lot of opportunities in my life came from relationships I built years earlier.
I’d also say don’t be afraid to reach out to people you admire. Some of the best advice and mentorship I received came from simply asking questions, staying curious, and being open to learning.
