Today we’d like to introduce you to Alina Alam.
Hi Alina, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my food blog back in 2015 for this express purpose, to showcase not only my own culture’s food but modern, American-inspired fusion creations. Through my lens, I hope to bring cultural awareness to others through a common appreciation for good food, great service, and above all, a wholesome experience. From my page, people will learn more about halal food recommendations and Pakistani tea time. Eventually, I started meeting other food bloggers, and I was constantly invited to various restaurants. I was working as a full-time engineer and doing food blogging. During the pandemic, I was pregnant and not working. Thus, I started my food marketing business. I wanted to help food brands and Restaurants market themselves in a unique way. Being a food blogger, I knew how to capture the story behind the food. My first year was a big success I worked on a campaign for Shatila, New Yasmeen, and handle handful of social media. Also, I showcased my passion for tea time which helped me get through my postpartum. My creative food events set me apart in my marketing strategy. Last year, I held one of the biggest international tea parties in Metro Detroit. I invited 20 different vendors and 50+ influencers. It was definitely a dream come true, showcasing my passion for food & tea while helping local business
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This road has been solely based on my passion and understanding of the obstacles that come with it. My background is in engineering, not marketing. It’s hard to explain that to new clients or people who don’t believe in social media marketing. Also, it’s very easy to compare yourself on social media with other macro-influencers or marketing companies. My key not to getting overwhelmed is to always be consistent and focus on working my unique lens
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
