Hi Theresa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey into massage therapy began with my own healing. After undergoing a radical hysterectomy in 2004 following years of surgeries for stage 4 endometriosis, I found relief through clinical massage—and a new path forward. What started as a way to help understand my own body turned into a passionate, two-decade-long career dedicated to helping others.
Graduating at the top of my class & completing the grad study program, I quickly dove into advanced studies, including intensive training in myofascial release with renowned expert John Barnes. I fell in love with the body’s natural ability to heal and have since continued to explore every opportunity to expand my knowledge and hone my craft.
Over the years, I have owned many successful practices, taught at massage schools & college campuses and led continuing education workshops nationwide. In 2023, I entered the competitive massage arena, judging nationally at AMC & at multiple stages . In 2025 I entered the Florida Massage Championship , ranking first in facial massage and a bronze medal in the mixed category . I have proudly run the Michigan Massage Championship the last 2 years and am committed to raising the bar for continuing education in the Midwest at Innovative Bodywork & Esthetics in Riverview.
The mission is simple: help people live pain-free, naturally—and inspire the next generation of bodyworkers to do the same.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No way! My own health struggles over the years have been a huge hindrance. However through perseverance & sheer grit I have overcome many obstacles and continue to pursue this amazing adventure. Covid 19 put a huge damper on local businesses & that is when I went back to teaching full time until we could figure out the landscape of these types of businesses post pandemic.
