Community Highlights: Meet Rahnda Loussia of Sola Salon Studios

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rahnda Loussia.

Hi Rahnda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up in San Diego as the oldest of three girls, where beauty—like hair, skin, nails, and makeup—was a huge part of our lives. My parents had their own businesses, which really inspired me from a young age. After moving to Michigan 25 years ago, I took some time to be a stay-at-home mom to my three amazing kids.

Eventually, my family saw a chance to bring the salon studio concept to Metro Detroit, with the goal of empowering salon professionals and helping them achieve their dreams of ownership. This journey has been incredibly fulfilling, blending my passion for beauty with my entrepreneurial spirit.

Before having kids, I managed the front desk at busy salon/spa, where I learned all about customer service, scheduling, accounting, marketing and event planning. I’ve always felt a strong connection with salon professionals; their creativity and spirit are truly unmatched. Now, I lease and manage five Sola Salons in the Metro Detroit area, and even after nearly nine years, I still love it just as much as I did on day one. The success stories and achievements of our SOLApreneurs inspire me every day!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a totally smooth journey. I’ve faced challenges like dealing with the ups and downs of the industry and the economy, finding the right team members, and juggling my personal life with my professional goals. Each struggle has taught me something valuable and helped me grow, both personally and as a business owner. I’ve learned to adapt and stay resilient, which has made me stronger and even more committed to my vision.

We’ve been impressed with Sola Salon Studios, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Sola Salons is all about empowering salon professionals through the salon studio concept, especially in the Metro Detroit area. We focus on giving independent stylists the tools and environment they need to succeed as entrepreneurs. What really makes us different is our commitment to creating a supportive community where professionals can grow their brands without the usual limits of traditional salons.

We take pride in our quality and innovation, designing spaces that showcase each stylist’s unique style while offering top-notch services to clients. I’m especially proud of the success stories that come from our salons—watching professionals reach their dreams of ownership and build their own brands is such a rewarding experience.

I want everyone to know that we’re more than just a salon; we’re a community that supports creativity and independence.
