Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Lewis. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Guiding Light Counseling Services, PLLC (GLCS) started as a solo practice in Sterling Heights, Michigan in June 2016 by the Founder and Visionary, Jennifer T. Lewis, LMSW-C, LCSW. As a Clinical Social Worker, Ms. Lewis has worked in the mental health field since 2007 after obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Florida Memorial University and her Master of Social Work in 2013 at Wayne State University.
During the course of her career, she gained clinical experience in Juvenile Justice Mental Health, Substance Abuse Group Counseling, Individual and Family Psychotherapy, Home-Based Therapy, Crisis Intervention, Inpatient Psychiatric Intake & Admissions, Hospital Discharge Planning, Medical and Behavioral Health Utilization Management, Case Management, Medical Social Work, and serving as a professional healthcare consultant in the state of California and Michigan.
Ms. Lewis’ clinical therapeutic specialties include, but are not limited to, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Christian-Based Counseling, and Grief Therapy. GLCS clients found that Ms. Lewis’ therapeutic approach provided them with a safe and inviting space where they could be transparent and freely express their most intimate thoughts, free of judgment or criticism.
Currently, GLCS is a boutique mental health collection with a team of clinical social workers who provide specialized person-centered and strength-based services. Ms. Lewis personally ensures GLCS clinicians promote and utilize only evidence-based approaches and techniques. Our primary goal, as a private practice agency is to provide quality mental health services to vulnerable and at-risk populations throughout the states of Arizona and Michigan which are economically efficient.

What do you think about luck?
The guiding Light Counseling Services (GLCS) executive team does not believe in good luck or bad luck; however, we do believe in Jesus Christ. We believe it is he alone that gives the vision and layout of Guiding Light Counseling Service to Ms. Lewis at the age of 13. She believed in the plan and vision which God give her in the summer of 1998 while at Yale Youth Law Summer Camp.
God played a significant and imperative role in the development in the personal and professional development of Ms. Lewis and who she is today as a person and mental health clinician. As GLCS continues to grow, GLCS as a company and team truly believes that without, God’s grace and mercy, GLCS would not be where we are today as a company.
