From the bustling streets of Detroit to the empowering virtual classrooms of Polished Perspective Publishing House, my journey has been nothing short of transformative. At the tender age of 17, I ventured out on my own, juggling full-time work with full-time studies at the University of Detroit Mercy. This chapter taught me resilience and the unyielding power of determination.

However, it was during a serene, quiet moment in 2018 when my daughter Morgan, only eight years old at the time, penned her first book, igniting a spark within me. This was the turning point that propelled me from being just a participant in life’s narrative to becoming a storyteller for others. I wouldn’t come into this realization until a fierce battle with COVID (2020) changed the essence of how I experienced life. While myself and my daughter waited helplessly as my husband Rev. Deidric Tupper nursed us back to health (without getting sick), I knew that life would be forever changed for me. I was reminded that tomorrow isn’t promised!

The real transformation began when I decided to channel my journey and lessons into founding Polished Perspective Publishing House. Here, I shifted from teaching etiquette to empowering women to amplify their voices through authorship. Each author I work with brings a unique, polished perspective, enriching our lives with their stories. This endeavor is not just about publishing books; it’s about opening doors for men, women and children, enabling them to actualize their dreams and assert their voices in a compelling and powerful way.

Today, as an International #1 Bestselling Author and a strong voice for many underrepresented voices, I stand proud, not just for my accomplishments, but for the impact we’ve collectively made in the publishing world. Each page we publish carries a piece of a larger narrative, one that speaks of resilience, empowerment, and the undeniable power of sharing one’s story.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I recently visited Hawaii with my family. We had a late flight, which gave me the wild idea take a hike that I found out about on Google. I had on flip flops and sweats. It was raining at the time. My husband suggested that we turn back, but I insisted on reaching the pinnacle. We did!

That hike, just like my life, presented many struggles, obstacles and challenges. I’m so grateful that God has not allowed struggles, challenges, obstacles or any such thing stand in my way.

From growing up without my biological father in a low income single mother household, to experiencing many trials, tests and tribulations including health scares, loss, and the unthinkable residue of that terrible battle with COVID, smoothness was never in the cards for me. But grace was and still is.

Building a business as a double minority (female and black) comes with its own set of challenges. Imagine the challenges of an otherwise muted voice in our society, working to amplify the voices of the underserved, underrepresented, forgotten and disadvantaged geniuses that are all around us.

Embracing friction and conflict on the road to success isn’t just about overcoming them; it’s about transforming them into the very steps we climb to reach new heights.

While the journey hasn’t been a smooth road, it has been immensely rewarding. The early days were filled with challenges, from establishing credibility in a fiercely competitive industry to finding the right voices that needed amplification. Each obstacle, however, taught me valuable lessons about resilience and the art of perseverance.

As I navigated through these trials, I learned to embrace friction and conflict, not just as hurdles, but as opportunities to forge a stronger path forward. This mindset shift wasn’t just crucial; it was transformative. It allowed me to innovate, to adapt, and to use every rough patch as a stepping stone towards greater achievements. Now, the road is getting smoother, and with each challenge, I’m learning how to use these experiences for the greater good, propelling us forward into a future where every voice that needs to be heard finds its echo in the world.

But none of these has been as crucial as the support of my loving husband and business partner, Rev. Dr. Deidric Tupper. He’s taken on my dream as his own and treats it as such. The prayers and unyielding support that he freely gives is everything to me. And because he is a pastor, I enjoy the benefits of two churches covering me in sincere prayer, New Faith Temple Church of God in Christ (Grand Rapids) and Tabernacle Church of God in Christ (Kalamazoo). This is a great space for me to give all glory to God! Without Him I am nothing.

My daughter as mu supreme inspiration and first author in our family has been my unwavering cheerleader.
