Community Highlights: Meet Corey Potter of Seedhub

Today we’d like to introduce you to Corey Potter. 

Hi Corey, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I’ve been a part the cannabis industry for years and recently took interest into genetics and breeding of cannabis. I noticed that Lansing did not have safe access to cannabis seeds. So, on October 15th, 2021, we officially opened Seedhub for business! We strive to provide the finest and most sought-after cannabis genetics from all Michigan and all over the world. We built our strain library to over 150 varieties of cannabis, and the list is growing and changing daily. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey has been full of ups and downs. Some of our struggles have been unusual and different from the typical new business. We actually have struggled with being able to secure online payments and being able to advertise with certain outlets. After a long process, we were able to get secure credit card processing with bank backing for our website! We are happy to be Lansing’s first and only walk-in cannabis seed bank! 

We’ve been impressed with Seedhub, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are Lansing, Michigan’s Cannabis Seed Bank! We supply the best cannabis genetics from Michigan and all over the world. Our staff is knowledgeable in the area of cannabis cultivation. We also provide a large variety of mushroom spores and accessories for mycology research purposes. 

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I like that Lansing is, for the most part, a family-oriented, safe community. I do not enjoy our response to the underprivileged sector of our community. I feel there is more that can be done to serve them.
