Community Highlights: Meet Chris Sullivan of Sullys Heating and Air

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Sullivan.

Hi Chris, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
There’s a lot of it that’s personal and a lot of it that’s business related. I started 20 years ago as a lowly HVAC technician. About nine years ago, I slipped and fell on some icy steps and had to overcome a traumatic brain injury. Then most recently we found out on my wife’s birthday two years ago that I had cancer. Your heart just drops when you hear that news. It is just so crushing and you really don’t know what to do with it.. I had a rare, but early detected colon cancer During subsequent scans, they found out that I had another cancer, thyroid cancer, which is very common and very beatable. So as I laid on roof With my chemo pouch often wondering what I’m doing with life. All while attached to my hip the chemo treatment was awful to work through. But as an HVAC technician I worked for a wonderful company that helped me through this difficult time in my life, I began to formulate a plan to build my own company. Largely it was through the influence of my wife, Amanda that we did anything. There have been lots of heart aches, sickness, and dark nights. There were times last year, where I could barely get out of bed. It took a village and our community and family was so wonderful to help us through this terrible trial. Even today, October 17, 2025, I am in quarantine with radiation treatment from my thyroid cancer has a finality to the two cancers that I’ve had.

It’s been a brutal road but I’ve had it pretty good. I’ve been very blessed to have both cancers detected early and have been blessed with good doctors and a great care team, supportive family and. Friends and neighbors and coworkers all have cheered me on through this miserable time. As a witness to miracles, there have been many on my behalf. So I plan to be a force for good and trying and building honest and reputable company when the people can trust and turn to every time

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been anything but easy. Literally the second I could get out of bed was when the company was formed.

Not only did I overcome one cancer, I’m in the middle of treating thyroid cancer with the surgery just a month prior to opening my company.

I also work a second full-time job to support my family so the hours are not kind. But it’s my families company in which I’m finally building a legacy on

I don’t know anything about accounting so I’ve had to recruit Help from a bookkeeper. I’ve had to recruit business coaches because I’m a great HVAC technician, but I’m not a business mind.

There have been hard lessons along the way, and have had to create inform new relationships and forge onward through the midst of our trials

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business is an organization is me as an owner operator. That’s it for now.

What I specialize in is residential furnace, and air conditioning systems and keeping people comfortable.

I offer comfort to families in their time of need

I offer a reasonable pricing and one thing that says me apart as I show clients exactly what things cost. I’m tough as nails after surviving two rounds of Cancer. I’ll be there when they need me to be there. I’ll get them going at a reasonable rate.

I’m most proud of my brain because it has my name in it. Sullys comes from Sullivan.

I also offer preventative maintenance services to help people not break down as often

I will help people DIY HVAC to a point. If it becomes unattainable, then I will help them wherever they want to be met.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Comment on Facebook when people need help and tag me personally and professionally. I’m pretty well known in the community and I try and get out and about and support community. For many years I was in a scout leader until my job for me just this year out of the position. I still hold a part-time role in that, but I try and support the community whenever I get a chance . Because the community in Eagle Mountain. Has given me so much.
