Community Highlights: Meet Chris Chetosky of CC Property Services LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Chetosky

Hi Chris, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I originally went off to school at Michigan State University, when I was 18 out of high school. I quickly realized that it was expensive and not necessarily for me so I went back home which a the time was where I had lived my entire life, Royal Oak, MI a northern suburb of Detroit. I tried another year at Wayne State and then some classes at Oakland Community College. All of this happened while I was working a landscaping/construction job for a small business in the Royal Oak area, RFW Landscaping Contractors, INC. The owner, Bob, taught me pretty much anything/everything that I know about landscaping and construction and was a great mentor. I ended up working there for over 12 years with a couple brief hiatuses in the middle. Then in 2022 I decided it was time to go off on my own. I had met enough people and learned enough that it was time to figure things out on my own. In January of 2022 I started my own business: CC Property Services LLC. Also I started the process to get my own builders licenses so that there were no limitations to what I could do. I worked handyman and smaller remodeling and building jobs while completing my license requirements and a year later I was fully licensed and insured and ready to take on any project with my very supportive wife who pushed me to go into business for myself and my two daughters who it’s all for. This past year we decided to move our family and my business up north to Lake, MI where we had vacationed with long time friends for a while, but just recently I had taken on some work in the area and had built a decent name for myself. Decent enough of a name that I thought I had enough of a name in the area to make the move with my whole business. And here we are today!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. When I parted ways with my old boss it wasn’t necessarily on the best of terms and things still haven’t been repaired on that end, but hoping to reach out and fix that situation soon. The winters of the first two years being in business were tough. Either there was no work or the work that had been scheduled was pushed back making both winters tighter than expected. The biggest struggle has been lately. We still have not been able to sell our downstate house and are paying basically two large mortgages which doesn’t leave us much money to save.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about CC Property Services LLC?
I think the most important thing to know about my company is that we genuinely care about our customers. Sure that sounds like something everyone says but we really mean it. We don’t just try to get a job done and get paid. We try to give our customer the best possible experience so that you want us to come back and help you with your next project . I feel like I am an easy to get along with and very relatable guy! We do pretty much anything the customer is willing to pay us to do. I have experience in pretty much everything whether it be welding, carpentry, automotive, roofing, kitchens, bathrooms, wood working the list goes on. As of late we seem to be specializing in basement finishing/remodeling. What sets us apart from others is that we care about the people we work for not just the work we are doing for them. We will go out of the way to help anywhere/anyway we can. I am most proud of the impression we leave on our customers. We want them to feel relaxed and comfortable around us and enjoy our company because typically we are going to be in each other’s company for a good amount of time depending on the scale of the job. I want the readers to know that we can be your all around service provider. If you have us then you won’t need anyone else to help take care of your home or small business.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Just that you have to be prepared for some setbacks or for times where there just isn’t work. And if you have time to sit around and watch tv or relax then you probably aren’t doing enough to grow your business. And of course save as much money as you can in the beginning.

Pricing:

  • We can bill by the job or hourly.
  • Not afraid to take on smaller jobs.
  • Not afraid to bid on large scale jobs as well.
  • Willing to work with budgets.
