How I Started My Business and Got to Where I Am Today

The journey of starting my business was anything but traditional. It began on a whim in 2022, at a moment in my life when most people would be focused on anything but starting a business—I was nine months pregnant with my second child. A conversation at my job at the time sparked an idea that I just couldn’t shake. I started exploring the basics of the industry, diving into everything from contracts and insurance to certifications and building a strong network of vendors.

Those initial steps were crucial in laying the foundation, but what followed was even more incredible. Since then, we’ve experienced exponential growth. Today, I’m proud to say we have a team of 18 dedicated and highly skilled bartenders who bring professionalism, energy, and creativity to every event.

Over the years, we’ve cultivated relationships with some of the most talented professionals in the industry and partnered with four amazing venues across Michigan. These partnerships allow us to provide clients with a professional yet fun bar experience, whether it’s for their wedding or another special event.

From securing the tools and resources needed to deliver exceptional service to managing cash flow during slower months, every financial decision had to be made with long-term goals in mind.

Early on, I realized that aligning with people who are passionate, reliable, and enthusiastic about creating unforgettable experiences for clients is critical. It wasn’t always easy, but the effort to build a strong, like-minded team has been well worth it.

The months between November and March are typically slow, and finding ways to sustain the business and keep the team motivated during that time requires creativity and determination. Whether it’s exploring off-season opportunities, running promotions, or focusing on professional development, I’ve learned to embrace the slower months as an opportunity to strengthen the business for busier times.

Finally, keeping up with an ever-changing industry has been an ongoing effort. Trends evolve quickly, and client expectations are always rising. From new cocktail styles to innovative presentation ideas, staying ahead requires continuous learning, networking, and adapting to change. I’ve embraced this challenge as an opportunity to grow, always striving to exceed expectations and set new standards of excellence.

Despite these struggles, the rewards have been incredible. Every challenge has pushed me to become a stronger leader and a better business owner. It’s a testament to the power of perseverance, a clear vision, and a commitment to excellence that we’ve built a thriving business with a reputation for delivering a professional, stress-free, and fun experience for every client.
