Community Highlights: Meet Asia Lovelady of Ladee Luv Collections

Today we’d like to introduce you to Asia Lovelady.  

Hi Asia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Hi, I am Asia Lovelady, the CEO of Ladee Luv Collections, LLC. Everyone that I have ever come across has always asked me, “How did I come up with my business?”, “What made me want to sell Mink Lashes?”, and “What makes my company different from others?” 

I LOVE those types of questions from my returning customers and potential customers because of their reactions, which allows me to connect with them through my story. I came up with this business in July of 2020, right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, and after I lost my grandmother in June of 2020 to Cancer. Creating this company was initially to help my sister and I get through the passing of our grandmother. My grandmother was my best friend, and she knew me better than I knew myself. It was like having an older and much wiser version of myself to communicate with. She knew what I was thinking before I did. Let alone, anytime I felt depressed due to work, school, and/or family issues, all she had to do was look at me as if she could feel my energy, even when I masked it, she just knew. All it took was her beautiful smile and a hug and everything magically disappeared. As my grandmother was placed on hospice, I became her caregiver due to the respect and love that I had for her. I made sure I supported her until she took her last breath. After she passed away, I realized this was my new reality, which caused me to feel like I lost my mind. It was like losing myself, my best friend, my mother figure, and just an overall inspiration to my life. When trying to make sense of this new life of mine, I created Ladee Luv Collections. This company has been my heart and has helped me to pick up the pieces of my life and my broken heart. This is how I was able to make this my coping mechanism. 

One day, I noticed that my little sister was always wearing strip lashes and she looked amazing with them on, and I saw how it boosted her confidence. Since I have always wanted to wear strip lashes, I thought that selling the lashes would be perfect for me and my situation. I, then fell in love with this idea and formed a business plan and started my research. Everything started to fall into place, so, I did a trial run to see if anyone wanted to purchase (strip) mink lashes. A lot of people were loving the lashes and wanted to support me in becoming a woman business owner. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When I created this company, it was a little smooth, but challenging. The easy part for me was coming up with a full business plan and a name. It was easier to fill out the forms to get my company legally registered in the State of Michigan. The struggle that I experienced the most keeping up my business idea due to my grandma passing weeks prior, which caused me not to be in the right mental place at the time. I fought through it as much as possible until I completely broke down. Her passing triggered me to being diagnosed with Bipolar II Depressive Disorder. Although, I tried to stay motivated and keep myself busy, I ended up having a mental break. I am still working on my business even today, but this time I am doing much better as of late.

I would like my protentional and returning customers to know that I spent hours, days, weeks, and months to find the BEST QUALITY PRODUCTS that I saw people asking for. I picked out lashes for all kinds of people with different backgrounds and of all ages. Ladee Luv Collections, LLC is about QUALITY versus QUANTITY. All women are created with a different and unique look, which is why I took the time and effort to find the BEST QUALITY, LUXURIOUS, and 100% REAL MINK to bring out their true beauty. Therefore, this aids in increasing self-confidence. The most important mission here at Ladee Luv Collections is, “Always love your Unique self all while building your Self-Confidence”! When it comes to my products, I make sure I personally try my mink lashes on to check the quality, durability, and how long it will last before I sell them. I also do this with all my products and take the same approach. I, as the CEO, will not anything that I would never use, wear, or buy myself to support my business. Plus, I am involved in my business 100%. I created everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, for my business from managing all my social media accounts and designing my own website with no web design experience whatsoever to taking professional pictures of my products and recording YouTube videos.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years, I plan on hiring someone to market my business everywhere on social media, billboards, podcasts, and more. I also plan to hire someone to maintain my website and design it in a more professional manner. The biggest change I would love to add to my company is to make a full online one-stop shop for all women and merging a children’s collection and eventually creating a men’s collection. I still plan find the best quality items as a reasonable price.
