Community Highlights: Meet Anji Ball of Bling by Anji

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anji Ball.

Anji, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My business really started during a season when a lot was changing in my life. In January of 2020, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I was looking to do something from home that would bring in extra income.
I’ve always loved style, jewelry and anything with a little sparkle, so instead of letting that season stop me, I decided to turn that love into something of my own. Bling by Anji was started in September 2020. At first, I honestly wasn’t thinking about building some huge brand. But once I started, I realized how much I loved helping women find affordable pieces that made them feel cute, confident and put together. Over time, Bling by Anji grew beyond jewelry. I started adding purses, clothing, accessories, sunglasses, anklets and more. I’ve also built a community around the business that I call the Bling Tribe. I love it because I want my customers to feel like they’re shopping with someone they know. A lot of my business has grown through live sales, vendor events, social media and customers that continue to support me. Living with MS while running a business has definitely taught me how to pivot. Some days I can do everything on my list, and some days my body is like ” Girl, absolutely not.” I’ve learned to adjust, prioritize what really needs to be done, and keep moving without letting one off day make me feel like I’m falling behind. I have learned so much as a business owner. I’ve had to learn inventory, pricing, shipping, customer service, vendor events, social media, live selling and all the little things that happen behind the scenes that the customer never see. Today, I’m focused on continuing to grow Bling by Anji, reaching more women, and finding new vendor opportunities. It’s kind of wild to think that something I started because I needed flexibility and extra income during one of the most uncertain times in my life. I definitely didn’t have a business plan sitting in front of me. I just started, learned as I went, and kept building. I’m grateful for the people who have supported me, and excited to see where I can take it next. Sclerosis, and a baby on the way. At the time, I was trying to figure out what life was going to look like moving forward. I wanted

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My journey has not always been a smooth one. One of my biggest challenges has been getting my business in front of new people and staying consistent when I’m already juggling so much. My small business requires a lot of time and energy. Creating content, hosting live sales, and I am grateful to have my mother involved in the business. There have been times we have invested time, energy, and money without seeing the sales or engagement we hoped for. These challenges have taught me to adjust and keep learning. I’m motivated to continue to help women have a great shopping experience.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Bling by Anji is an online jewelry and accessories boutique that help women express their personal style that’s affordable, I offer a mix of statement pieces, and everyday glam, including earrings, bracelets, necklaces, rings, sunglasses, purses and more. My mom and I work together to select pieces. What sets my business apart is the personal shopping experience. During my Facebook live sale we shop, joke, laugh, talk about life and genuinely have a good time together. The bling tribe can relax, be themselves, and enjoy the conversation while finding pieces they love. I’m proud of the community I have built since starting my business. Bling by Anji is built on affordable style, real connections, and helping women feel confident in what they wear.

How do you think about happiness?
My faith, my kids and creating something of my own brings me happiness. Reading Customers reviews about how they love their items is one of my favorite parts of owning Bling by Anji. Connecting with people and laughing is when I’m the happiest. My business gives the chance to express my personality and help women who enjoy accessories.
