Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Beskow.
Hi Angela, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I actually started sewing as an adult. When I was a new mom, I’d stay up late watching HGTV and was inspired by everyday people sewing simple, one-of-a-kind pieces to decorate their homes. I wanted to do that too. I was especially drawn to quilting, though I figured it would be something I’d learn “someday” when my kids were older.
Fate had other plans—after a move to Germany, I had the chance to take an Intro to Patchwork and Quilting class for expats. That experience completely hooked me. Quilting became such a creative and fulfilling outlet, and it’s been my passion ever since. Now, I’m excited to share that same joy with others by creating a space where people can learn, feel inspired, and find the supplies they need to create something of their own.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Opening our business has been a remarkably smooth experience. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such a supportive and business-friendly community. Being located in the downtown area has opened up so many opportunities for connection and collaboration with other small business owners, and our town does a wonderful job organizing events and festivals that bring people together and draw visitors to the area.
