Community Highlights: Meet Anesa Trisch of Kids Closet (Resale Store) & Gypsy Mitten Cafe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anesa Trisch

Hi Anesa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have always had a strong work ethic. I started working at 16 and always kept climbing up the ladder at any job. By the time I was 22 I was an assistant store manager of a large fast food chain. I left fast food to work in an office for a home care. After I had my 2nd daughter, the pandemic hit eventually and no one wanted people in their home. The side of the business I worked on had to lay me off. But everything works out in mysterious ways.

My grandma had her resale store (Kids Closet), that she had ran for over 20 years, but her dementia was progressing. She was unable to continue running her store, but thankfully with me being laid off, I was able to continue running the store and took it over officially in November of 2020.

In September 2022, I had a random thought to start a mobile coffee trailer. I had bought a trailer to redo, but then at the end of October of 2022 that was put on hold due to me getting pregnant with my son. After I had him in July of 2024, he was the best baby ever. A trailer popped up on Facebook that was pretty well built out for what I needed and Gypsy Mitten Cafe became a reality. I bought the trailer in September 2023, jumped the hurdles with licensing with the health department. I passed my final inspection of February 2024 and it took off! I can’t wait to see where it can go —literally and figuratively lol!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For Kids Closet, it was a pretty smooth road. Since I took it over from my grandma, it was already established but I do have to work extra hard to keep fresh stock out and replenish inventory.

For Gypsy Mitten Cafe, it was a whole new ball game for me. There were definitely hurdles when it came to licensing with the health department. Mostly equipment issues not working properly, but once that was taken care of, it all fell into place. I still have some bumps in the road with each towns policies on food trucks, etc., but it’s a learning process and will get easier when I go to places regularly.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Kids Closet (Resale Store) is a family owned and operated thrift store for almost 30 years. We are known for our low prices to be able to help out the community.

We love helping out our community in other ways like school supply drives, Christmas toy drives, helping homeless/less fortunate, helping fire victims, and just helping others when we can.

Gypsy Mitten Cafe is a mobile coffee and bake shop. I run it in my “spare time,” aside from being a mom of 3, a wife, and multi business owner. I’m licensed for the state of Michigan and can travel all over with my trailer to spread the love of coffee, specialty drinks, and baked goods!

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
Some ways to support me would be to help spread the word about my businesses and if you can support them by shopping them, is even better!
