Community Highlights: Meet Amanda Liford of Easy Life Organizing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Liford.

Amanda, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hello! My name is Amanda and I’m the founder and owner of Easy Life Organizing. I’ve always been that person who loves planners and gets excited about getting a 3-hole punch for Christmas. Previously, I worked in the automotive manufacturing industry as a production scheduler. Here I learned about 5S and LEAN systems and really fell in love with making processes that were simple and efficient. Later, I had the opportunity to put them to the test when I actually organized and staged my house to sell. I continued to give tips and help friends. I later found out that I could do this for others and make a living doing it when the Marie Kondo show appeared. That, along with wanting to be my own boss, gave me the motivation to start Easy Life Organizing.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
This was not and continues to not be a smooth straight road. I’m naturally more introverted than I think people usually think. I knew that in order to get where I wanted to go, I would have to step outside my comfort zone and do things that I was not comfortable doing. One was being on camera. In order to better conquer that fear, I started doing Instagram Stories and Live videos to get more practice. Sometimes I would have 5 people on, sometimes there was 0. But I was doing it anyway.

When I first started, I was working full-time still and had to be strategic with my time to keep up with my work responsibilities while also growing my business. Strategically planning my time, being transparent with my employer, and respecting my own time all had a hand in helping me get over this obstacle.

On top of that, having a 2-year-old with no family close by really makes scheduling appointments and jobs another challenge. Asking for help has to be the number one thing that has made me more successful.

There have been and there will always be challenges, but I would not trade them for anything!

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Easy Life Organizing?
As a professional organizer, my job is simply to give people back their time by making their spaces more organized. While we offer a variety of services we specialize in home organizing, business organizing, and paperwork.

When we live with less clutter and are able to find stuff quickly, we can relax! Easy Life Organizing is known for making the entire process as simple as possible for our clients. We will recommend products and purchase products, make donations, recommend other businesses, and we do 90% of the organizing work without you needing to be working directly with us the entire time.

Our brand is simple, transparent, creative, and relatable. We know that life happens and sometimes we just need the extra help to get us where we want to go. While we’re doing the organizing, our clients are enjoying life and making memories knowing that someone they trust is allowing that to happen.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as achieving your goals while being fulfilled. Whether they be small or huge, monetary or relationship-driven, achieving your goals is what it is. Now if you’re achieving goals that are not important and not giving you a sense of accomplishment or feeling fulfilled, you won’t feel truly successful. Being successful is completely in the eye of the beholder.
