Today we’d like to introduce you to Aideen Ni Riada
Hi Aideen, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey began with a simple yet powerful dream: to be a singer. Growing up, I often felt that my voice didn’t matter, and the idea of stepping into the spotlight seemed almost impossible. But that desire to express myself led me to study voice and performance, and I discovered not just a love for singing but also the transformative power of authentic self-expression. As I performed and connected with audiences, I realized that the voice is far more than just a tool for communication—it’s a reflection of our true selves.
Over time, my passion for self-expression grew to encompass wellness, mantra meditation, and personal development. I became fascinated by how our inner beliefs and emotions shape the way we communicate. This curiosity inspired me to study psychology, public relations, and voice training, blending these disciplines into a unique approach to help others find their voice—both literally and metaphorically.
While I loved coaching singers, I realized my true calling was to work with professionals and leaders navigating the challenges of change, self-doubt, and feeling unheard. My own experiences of overcoming self-doubt taught me the value of self-compassion and the strength that comes from embracing who we truly are. Now, as a Voice & Communication Coach, I help my clients break free from limiting beliefs, connect with their value, and step into confident leadership, no matter the setting.
It’s been a journey of learning, growth, and transformation.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road—far from it. One of my biggest struggles was overcoming my own self-doubt. For years, I carried the belief that “I want to be a singer, but I can’t do that.” This mindset kept me stuck, afraid to share my voice, and playing small. Recognizing that my internal dialogue was holding me back was a pivotal moment, but moving beyond it took time, courage, and deep personal work.
Pursuing my dream of becoming a singer took me on an unexpected detour. I moved to London to follow my dream, but instead, I ended up in a job that mirrored what I had left behind in Ireland. It wasn’t what I envisioned, and soon, the cracks started to show. I had a difficult relationship with my boss, and the stress took a toll. I lost a significant amount of weight, and when my doctor recommended sick leave, my boss attempted to fire me. I was angry, stubborn, and still convinced I could make London work, despite the reduced income and toxic work environment.
Eventually, my father intervened. He came to London with letters of concern from my family, and it was the wake-up call I needed. He convinced me to move back home. This experience deeply shook my confidence but also taught me an invaluable lesson in surrender. I had to let go of pushing for what I thought I wanted and start tuning into the truth of situations.
For six months after returning home, I barely left my house. It was a time of deep reflection and recalibration. I stopped forcing outcomes and began focusing on planting seeds in life. I learned to listen—not just to others, but to my inner voice and intuition. This shift marked a turning point and led me down a more rewarding path of working for myself and helping others uncover their unique value.
Another major challenge came later when I transitioned from coaching singers to helping professionals and leaders find their voice. It felt like a leap into the unknown but also like the next natural step. This evolution allowed me to bring together everything I’d learned about communication, personal growth, and authentic self-expression to make a greater impact.
Each obstacle I’ve faced has shaped who I am today, teaching me to reframe challenges as opportunities for growth. These experiences are why I wrote my book Discover Your True Value I used to be so hard on myself, constantly feeling like I wasn’t enough. But learning how to value myself was a total game changer. It transformed the way I live, work, and connect with others.
This book is so close to my heart because it shares many of the strategies that helped me get there. It’s filled with practical tips, insights, and tools that I’ve personally used, along with a built-in 21-day journal and a list of my favorite affirmations. It’s everything I wish I had when I started my journey to self-love, all in a beautiful, easy-to-read guide.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I prefer to use the word blessing over luck because it carries a deeper sense of meaning. That said, I’d be lying if I didn’t admit to feeling unlucky at times—especially in terms of my own stubbornness and lack of confidence earlier in life. I think about some of the opportunities that came my way, which might be considered lucky breaks, but my insecurities held me back from fully embracing them. It’s a lesson I’ve taken to heart: you can only make the most of your “lucky” moments when you’re ready to meet them.
When I moved back home after my lowest point in London, I felt like a failure. I didn’t blame luck; I blamed myself. I remember asking my meditation teacher if I needed to deserve good things to happen, and her response was a turning point for me. She reminded me that it’s not about worthiness; it’s about sowing seeds and trusting that, in time, you’ll reap the rewards. That wisdom gave me hope when my self-esteem was at its lowest. I didn’t need to feel “worthy” in that moment—I just needed to take one small step forward, and then another, toward something better.
This approach has transformed how I live and work. In my business, I’m more willing to take risks and plant seeds, even if I don’t see the immediate results. Writing my first book, Discover Your True Value, was one of those seeds—it took courage I wouldn’t have had years ago.
Looking back, both the “good” and “bad” luck have been blessings in their own way. They’ve shaped my path and taught me the importance of resilience, faith, and preparation. It’s been worth every step.
Oprah says, “Luck is when preparation meets opportunity.” Today, I focus on preparing for the opportunities I hope for, rather than waiting for them to land in my lap.
