Today we’d like to introduce you to Trendell Fordham.
Hi Trendell, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I studied graphic design in high school, helped with projects that turned into a physical products. I originally started out making custom shirts (@designingsolutions) to avoid paying $50-$100 for T-Shirts and to help other people grow their business. Designing Solutions is a marketing company that is currently focusing on shirt design and printing that I created.
The Prosperous Collection started as my personal motivational streetwear line made by Designing Solutions. At the time of conception, I was completing a Street Wear Master course by Complex Magazine & Parsons University. I had no real intention of selling the line to the public. After being consistently praised for my designs and quality from the closest people to me, mentors, and people I respected in the streetwear community, I released it to the public.
I believe The Prosperous Collection is where it is today because the brand has been consistent, quality is always first, and its unique designs.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest obstacle right now is running the brand on my own. From the designing process to the printing of the garments, it is completely done by myself. Generally, if I am not the model, I am holding the camera. I feel like it is a great obstacle to have because the brand will only grow when the right people join the team.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a sales professional currently in tech industry. I have two children. I am most proud of the evolution of the brand and motivating my children in the process. I think my hard work and discipline set me apart from others.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
This was originally started with an investment of $400 to purchased the equipment.
