Check Out Sharon Fleurissaint’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharon Fleurissaint.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Sharon and I’m the designer behind Pretty Petal Papers. I graduated from Central Michigan University in 2006, with a degree in Apparel Design and Merchandising. I worked in the apparel industry for 13 years. When I got engaged in 2015, I had the hardest time finding a design that matched my vision for my big day. My fiancé said, “you know how to design, why don’t you design your own?” I decided to design our wedding invitations to create exactly what I envisioned. I fell in love with designing wedding invitations and other stationery products! I also realized that other brides may be experiencing the same struggles. I decided to created Pretty Petal Papers to help brides find a design they’ll love, for THE DAY they will always remember. I have now been able to work with 100+ couples since the very start of my business and have even worked with a celebrity, Torrey Devitto. Working with Torrey to design her invitations and day of stationery was one of the best experiences to date. I was even honored to be able to style her invitations on the day of her wedding for the photographer as well. We are expanding the business which is so exciting. I am so grateful to God and my husband, John. He is a part of the business as well and continues to be a blessing in my life and business. I’m excited to continue working with more couples in 2026 and beyond to create gorgeous luxury wedding stationery for their one special day!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Building Pretty Petal Papers has been one of the most meaningful chapters of my life, but it certainly hasn’t been a completely smooth road. In the early days, I was building everything from the ground up—refining my artistic voice, earning trust one client at a time, and learning how to run a business while also pouring myself into the creative work. Those beginning stages can feel both exhilarating and overwhelming, and I experienced all of it.

And then, of course, came COVID. Like so many in the wedding industry, I faced the uncertainty of postponed celebrations, changing timelines, and the emotional weight my couples were carrying. It was a season that required resilience, adaptability, and a deep commitment to serving my clients with calm and clarity, even when the path ahead was unclear.

But looking back, those challenges shaped PPP into what it is now—a luxury wedding stationery business, rooted in intention, elevated experiences, and an unshakable dedication to creating beauty even in difficult seasons. The obstacles taught me to slow down, refine my systems, trust my vision, and build a brand that feels as steady as it is creative. I thank God for giving me the strength and wisdom.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Pretty Petal Papers is a luxury wedding stationery studio devoted to creating artful, meaningful paper pieces that tell a couple’s story with intention. I specialize in custom designs—everything from hand-painted watercolor illustrations and fine-art envelope liners to elevated printing techniques like letterpress, foil, and blind debossing. Each suite is crafted to feel deeply personal and beautifully cohesive, with a level of detail that transforms paper into an heirloom.

I’m most proud of the experience my clients receive. Beyond the artwork itself, couples know they’ll be guided through a calm, seamless, and thoughtfully curated process. From our very first conversation to the moment they open their finished suites, they feel supported, understood, and taken care of. That emotional experience—the relief, the excitement, the sense of “this feels like us”—means just as much to me as the finished designs.

What sets Pretty Petal Papers apart is the blend of artistry and concierge-level service. Every suite is designed with the eye of a fine-art creative but delivered with the warmth and precision of a high-touch boutique. I listen closely, design intentionally, and ensure that every texture, ribbon, illustration, and color choice becomes part of a cohesive story. My couples often tell me that their invitations feel like the first glimpse of the wedding day itself—and that’s the highest compliment I could ask for.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I’ve never viewed my journey through the lens of luck—good or bad. For me, faith has always been the foundation. I believe God orders my steps, opens the right doors, and gives me the strength and clarity I need in each season. So rather than attributing moments in my life or business to chance, I see them as part of a bigger plan that’s unfolding with purpose.

There have been times that felt uncertain or challenging, but even in those moments, I’ve witnessed unexpected provision, protection, and growth. And in the seasons of abundance, I’ve felt a deep gratitude knowing they weren’t random—they were intentional.

So while some might call it luck, I see it as grace: the quiet reassurance that I’m being guided, supported, and equipped exactly when I need it.
