Hi Rebecca, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
A severe sunburn I got last summer set me on a path to find a natural solution that would soothe my sensitive skin. After some trial and error, I managed to create a nourishing lotion using just four simple ingredients. When my daughter used it on my grandkids and it worked wonders, I knew I had created something special – ‘Baby Soft Skin’ was born. This journey has been especially meaningful given my own struggles with eczema. Since discovering the benefits of tallow, I’ve been inspired to develop more natural products, like my luxurious whipped tallow, sugar and coffee scrubs and more coming soon. Now, my products are available in three local boutiques.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not! As a small business owner, I’ve learned to thrive in the midst of chaos, balancing my passions with a full-time job, motherhood, and grandmotherhood. The journey has been exhilarating, with countless sleepless nights spent brainstorming innovative ideas, scents, and marketing strategies. Each day brings new opportunities for growth, and I’m grateful for the supportive community that has guided me along the way.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I absolutely love crafting all natural and organic skincare products that are safe for everyone to use. With no added alcohol or harsh chemicals. I’m especially passionate about crafting exceptional whipped tallow using only premium ingredients. Made in small batches, my product combines 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef tallow, cold-pressed organic jojoba oil, and therapeutic-grade essential oils for a truly transformative skin care experience. Rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, tallow has the power to soothe and heal eczema and psoriasis, making it an excellent solution for diaper rash and other skin concerns. By crafting my products in small batches, I ensure that every item delivers its maximum benefits, empowering you to experience the best possible results. We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I’ve been truly fortunate to have a supportive husband and community cheering me on. Starting this small business venture was a risk, but my husband’s enthusiasm and encouragement have been a constant source of motivation. The community’s support has also been invaluable, helping me build a loyal customer base in an incredibly short time. I set a challenging goal for 2025, but I’ve already surpassed it, with my products now available in three boutiques across Mid-Michigan. To top it off, I’m doing around two craft shows a month, which is fantastic.
