Check Out Michael Hall’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Hall.

Hi Michael, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Jacqueline and I are celebrating knowing each other for 20 years and will be married for 17 years this Fall. We started Black Iris Studio in 2010, and at the time, Jacqueline’s main focus was her Tattoo Career, which she still has going today.

We have always inspired and supported each other in our artistic journey as a couple and as business owners.

The Global Pandemic brought us into situations where we have found ways to reinvent our artistic journeys.

Jaqueline with her paintings and me branching out into more commercial photography, and of course developing more skills with regards to Winter Landscapes and trying to think outside the comfort zone.

Jaqueline Beach is a 20-plus-year veteran as a Master Tattoo Artist as well.

Michael Hall started his photography business in 2005 and has won several awards and has been published in International Magazines

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are always struggles in every situation, especially for a married couple that also own a business together. But since we always find ways to encourage and support each other, we typically find ways to work things out and find the positive side of things

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Jacqueline has been tattooing professionally since 2001 and has also been involved in teaching blood-borne pathogen training and prevention of transmission and disease annually for many tattoo artists around the country and in parts of Canada for many years.

She has also reinvented herself and has become quite the abstract painter over the last few years.

Michael has been a professional photographer since 2005 and started out with many local photography shows around the Seattle area and was also published in Digital Camera Magazine out of the UK shortly afterwards.

Both of us are now members of a local art gallery called The East Ludington Gallery. A co-op of about 40 local artists in the UP and surrounding areas

What do you think about happiness?
Being creative has many beneficial perks. And the ability to do what we love while creating an environment where we also can focus on the happiness of our clients is one of the most rewarding aspects of our work.

Michael is also a wedding photographer and he takes pride in providing quality work for his clients and watching them grow as families…

Jacqueline has refocused her tattoo career a bit lately to help her keep doing the work she enjoys the most. By narrowing down her scope of work, she has set herself up with several clients who all want larger work done and is booked out for well over 6 months at a time. She is currently not taking on new projects until further notice.

Pricing:

  • Wedding Photography packages from $600 – $2500
