Check Out Maverick Salazar’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maverick Salazar.

Hi Maverick, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started Outside the Ring in 2022 with my very first interview being published on Feb 18, 2022. I started watching wrestling in 2016/17 when I went to local promotions near me, before finding out about WWE in 2020. Through out this journey, I have been grateful enough to meet so many amazing individuals from former WWE superstars, many indy legends/vets and current TNA superstars.

How Outside the Ring came to be is I love watching wrestling and I wanted to find a way to get involved without stepping in the ring, as i am unable to due to my heart condition. I found the way of podcasting because it would help not only me but others find out more about the wrestlers that you see on tv and locally in the ring.

In 2024, before my 4th open heart surgery, I was given the chance to attend TNA’s Bound for Glory event which was beong held in Detroit. Thru that, I was able to get Meet & Greet tickets for The Hardys. With that, I was able to chat with them and get Jeff on my podcast in July of 2025!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For the most part, it has been a smooth road. Despite some setbacks, of course you have your haters and naysayers. Nonetheless, the positivity and supporters have helped tremendously OVERTAKE the hate. They all have helped me see the brightness and helped me trend on the route of upwardness.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a podcaster that covers professional wrestling! I also has a mini-series attached to it where I have co-host King Koley on for recaps of WWE’s shows (Raw, NXT and Smackdown)

How do you define success?
I define success as going towards your goals and accomplishing them. Everyone defines success differently of course. You can continue to succeed in life. There is not a finish line for success. Once you hit your goals, you haven’t finished succeeding. You can continue to go past what you define as succeeding
