Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Cabanas.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I got my first camera when I was 16 for Christmas living in the Philippines, with my parents both working 2 jobs it meant the world to me that they have saved up money to get me a camera. Ever since then I’ve been consistently trying to learn on how to improve my camera skillsets together with my editing knowledge. I’ve been heavily inspired by Matt Komo & Sam Kolder so starting out watching their travel videos together with their editing tutorials really helped shaped my career.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, as much as I wished it was, it wasn’t. But that’s with any person who starts off in freelance. I’m glad to able to share these experiences with my other peers makes the baggage seem less heavy.
A lot of my struggles along the way learning who to trust and not to trust. Whether that’s following through on written contracts, making sure I get paid, etc. From time to time this still is a problem but not as much as when I first started.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a freelance Photographer / Videographer. I also now do work with NFL Films! But people mostly know me for being a photographer / videographer!
What I’m most proud of is getting to be on set with amazing people and making amazing commercials / videos! One of my favorite things was working with the people in grand central station and filming Eminem’s live performance, it is definitely one of the highlights of my career, everybody was i incredible to work with.
Nothing sets me apart from the rest, I’m just a beginner just like everyone. Everyone I think has different skill set that they are good at and I think that we can all learn from each other and grow.

It doesn’t take much for people to work with me, I think just seeing you being dedicated to your craft in whatever it is you do will most likely have me trying to work with you haha.
