Check Out Jasmine Swain’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Swain.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always been a storyteller at heart. Long before social media became a career, I was the person documenting experiences, planning events, and finding creative ways to bring people together. As a former pageant queen, I learned early on how to connect with people, communicate with confidence, and show up authentically—skills that would shape both my career and the life I’m building today.

For the past decade, I’ve worked for General Motors, where I currently lead creator engagements for the GM brand. I’ve had the opportunity to develop partnerships with incredible creators, work on campaigns that connect brands with culture, and help shape how one of the world’s largest companies shows up in the creator economy. It’s been a front-row seat to an industry that’s constantly evolving, and I’ve loved every minute of it.

Somewhere along the way, I realized I didn’t just enjoy helping brands tell their stories—I loved telling my own. What started as sharing pieces of my everyday life has grown into a creative outlet where I document my travels, style, home projects, and the moments that make life feel meaningful. I love creating content that inspires people to celebrate the little luxuries in everyday life, whether that’s planning a memorable trip, designing a space that feels like home, or simply finding joy in the ordinary.

Personally, the last few years have also been a season of reinvention. After my divorce, I made a conscious decision to create a life that felt fully my own. I renovated my “Pink Pad,” traveled more, embraced new experiences, and stopped waiting for the “right time” to do the things I’d always dreamed about. That journey has become a big part of the content I share because I hope it reminds people that it’s never too late to start over or redefine what happiness looks like.

Looking back, every chapter has led me here. Whether I’m collaborating with creators professionally or creating content myself, my passion has always been the same: telling stories that make people feel inspired, connected, and excited about what’s possible.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I wouldn’t change it because every challenge shaped who I am today.

When I started my career at General Motors, I wasn’t working in influencer marketing or brand strategy. I started in an entry-level customer service role, answering calls and learning the business from the ground up. I was willing to raise my hand for new opportunities, relocate across the country, and step outside of my comfort zone if it meant getting closer to the career I envisioned for myself. Those experiences gave me a deep appreciation for every role I’ve held and ultimately led me to the creator engagement position I’d dreamed of.

Personally, one of the biggest turning points in my life was my divorce. After spending over 15 years in one chapter, I had to rediscover who I was as an individual. It wasn’t something that happened overnight. I had to rebuild my confidence, learn to enjoy my own company, and realize that I didn’t have to wait for someone else to create the life I wanted.

That mindset has carried over into content creation as well. For years, I was comfortable helping brands and creators tell their stories while staying behind the scenes. Stepping in front of the camera and sharing my own life has required a different kind of courage. It has meant embracing vulnerability, letting go of perfection, and trusting that my own story has value too.

Looking back, every challenge has taught me resilience. Whether it was starting at the bottom of a large company, moving across the country for new opportunities, or rebuilding my life after a major personal transition, each experience prepared me for the next chapter. Today, I’m grateful that my journey wasn’t a straight line because it’s given me a perspective I wouldn’t have gained any other way.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in building meaningful connections between brands, creators, and audiences. As the Creator Engagement Lead at General Motors, I develop creator strategies, partnerships, and experiences that help bring brands to life through authentic storytelling.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting cultural moments and innovative initiatives within the creator space, including Super Bowl campaigns, the Barbie movie moment, and leading GM’s first Creator Lab activation. Creator Lab was a first-of-its-kind creator-first experience that brought creators into a Hollywood sound stage environment designed to inspire storytelling, collaboration, and authentic engagement with the brand.

I’m also incredibly proud of launching GM’s Employee Influencer program, which empowers employees to become authentic storytellers and share their unique perspectives from inside the company. I’ve always believed that influence extends beyond traditional creators, and that the people closest to a brand often have some of the most powerful stories to tell.

What sets me apart is my ability to blend strategy with creativity. I understand the business objectives behind a brand, but I also understand what makes content resonate with real people. I’m passionate about creating partnerships and experiences that don’t just generate content, but build genuine connections and community.

Beyond my professional work, I bring that same passion for storytelling into my own content creation, sharing my interests in travel, lifestyle, fashion, and experiences. Whether I’m helping a brand tell its story or creating my own, I’m always focused on creating moments that inspire people and make them feel connected.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I’ve learned that risk doesn’t always have to mean making a dramatic leap. Often, the biggest risks are the decisions to step into opportunities before you have every answer and trust that you have the ability to figure things out along the way.

I believe the best innovation comes from taking thoughtful risks. Throughout my career, I’ve consistently challenged myself to step outside of what’s familiar, embrace change, and create new opportunities rather than waiting for a roadmap to exist.

Early in my career at General Motors, I took risks by raising my hand for new opportunities, relocating for professional growth, and putting myself in situations where I had to learn, adapt, and build relationships in new environments. Those experiences shaped how I approach challenges today: with curiosity, confidence, and a willingness to try something new.

Working in the creator space has required that same mindset. When I entered creator marketing, the industry was evolving quickly and there wasn’t always a clear playbook for how brands should engage with creators. I’ve always been energized by that uncertainty because it creates opportunities to innovate. It has allowed me to help develop new approaches, build creator-first experiences, and create programs that bring new voices into brand storytelling.

I’ve also learned that taking risks means being willing to learn along the way. I’ve had moments where things didn’t go exactly as planned, but I’ve never viewed those experiences as failures. I take them as opportunities to reflect, grow, and understand how I can show up better the next time. It won’t always be perfect, but I’ve learned that there is always a way to make the experience meaningful and create value from it.

One of the biggest personal risks I’ve taken has been stepping out from behind the scenes and sharing my own story through content creation. After years of helping brands and creators tell their stories, putting myself in front of the camera required vulnerability and the willingness to be seen in a different way.

Ultimately, I don’t view risk as something to avoid. I view it as a catalyst for growth and innovation. Taking risks has empowered me to show up as a change maker, challenge the status quo, and contribute to creating the kind of future I want to see.
