Check Out Elena Jeronimo’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elena Jeronimo.

Hi Elena, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
My love for photography started at the age of 16 with my iPod as my first camera. I was sure I wanted to get into landscape photography! For my 17th birthday, my parents gifted me with my first DSLR, and little did I know that was going to be the start to my portrait photography journey. Shooting people had never crossed my mind, therefore I was skeptical when asked to take my friends’ senior pictures, but I decided to take the leap anyway and do not regret it one bit. Although portrait photography is my main focus, my love for landscape photography has not been completely disregarded as I’ve incorporated my traveling photographs into my portfolio.

I continue to take senior pictures for not only graduates at the high school I graduated from but others in the Grand Rapids area, including college graduates! I’ve also had the honor to do birthday shoots and photograph families, babies, couples and much more.

As of the beginning of 2022, I also offer studio sessions for my clients. I am willing to do it all and travel anywhere to get the shots my clients desire.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The most time-consuming thing about photography is editing. Editing takes me hours or even days which makes it complicated to balance with my social life, professional life (9-5 job), and personal life, but I am very passionate about photography therefore the time and effort I put into my work is always worth it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a portrait photographer based in Grand Rapids, MI. When taking a look at my work, you’ll see that I try to include the scenery, this way I am able to capture the essence of everything I see through my lens while the spotlight is still on my model. What truly makes my work a success is how I am able to bring out the confidence in each of my models. Not everyone I take pictures of is an extrovert or feels comfortable being the center of attention, but when taking a look at the images, it seems to be as if they owned the photoshoot.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
Anyone can get in touch with me though my Instagram page (shotbyelenaj) or website (shotbyelenaj.com), Whether that’s for collaborations or to book me for a photoshoot (prices are all on my website)!
