Today we’d like to introduce you to Duryea Paige
Hi Duryea, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
1st and foremost I wouldn’t be anywhere without the Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ
but I started my journey with a deep passion for music, focusing on production and songwriting. In the early stages, I worked with emerging artists, helping them craft their sound and find their place in the industry. My dedication to mastering the creative process played a big part in building my foundation.
Dedication and goal setting, reading books has always been another significant tool in my growth in music and or business
As I gained more experience, I realized the importance of balancing creativity with strategic business thinking. That led me to venture into the business side of things, where I could expand my influence and explore new opportunities. By fostering relationships, embracing collaboration, and always seeking innovation, I was able to grow not only in music but also in other business areas.
Today, my ability to blend my love for music with business acumen has allowed me to establish myself as a respected figure in both creative and entrepreneurial spaces. My story is one of passion, perseverance, and a constant drive for evolution.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road for me, Duryea Paige, also known as Duryea Hozay or (cornbread)lol in Detroit was very rough, hasn’t always been smooth. Like any journey, especially in music and business, there have been challenges along the way. Navigating the music industry comes with its ups and downs—whether it’s dealing with creative hurdles, balancing personal life with professional demands, or learning the business side of things through trial and error.
There were definitely times when I faced obstacles, from trying to get my foot in the door to managing the pressures of growth as my career expanded. But those challenges helped me develop resilience and taught me valuable lessons about persistence and adaptability. Every setback was a chance to refocus and come back stronger.
Ultimately, the bumps in the road shaped me, and they’re a big part of why I’ve been able to get to where I am today. While the journey hasn’t been smooth, it’s been rewarding because each step forward has been hard-earned.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I work primarily in the music industry, specializing in music production, songwriting, and creative direction. I’m known for helping artists develop their sound and refine their artistic vision, whether they’re just starting out or looking to evolve their music. My focus has always been on blending creativity with strategy, ensuring that the music resonates emotionally while also making a mark commercially.
What I’m most proud of is my ability to bring out the best in the artists I work with. Helping someone’s vision come to life and seeing their success, both personally and professionally, is extremely rewarding. I thrive on collaboration, and the relationships I’ve built with artists, producers, and other industry professionals are a testament to that.
What sets me apart is my dual approach—balancing the creative side of music with an understanding of the business. A lot of people focus on one or the other, but I’ve made it my goal to master both. Whether it’s crafting a song, guiding an artist’s brand, or handling the business strategy behind a project, I’ve always made sure to keep those two worlds connected. That combination of creativity and entrepreneurship has been key to my success.
In addition to my work in the music industry, I also own Golden Leaf Consultation LLC. This venture allows me to apply my business acumen to help others grow and succeed, offering guidance and strategic consultation across various industries. Through Golden Leaf, I provide insights on branding, business development, and creative direction, helping individuals and companies achieve their goals.
What sets me apart is my ability to merge the creative and business worlds seamlessly. Whether it’s in music or through my consultation work, I’ve always focused on making sure that creative vision aligns with sound strategy. This balance is what has helped me stand out and succeed in both spaces. I take pride in empowering others to reach their potential, whether through music or business.
What does success mean to you?
I define success as the ability to create meaningful impact while staying true to yourself. It’s not just about achieving financial goals or gaining recognition, but about making a difference in people’s lives, whether through music, business, or personal connections. Success, to me, is also about growth—constantly evolving, learning from failures, and pushing yourself to new heights.
It’s important to build something lasting, whether that’s a legacy in your work or the relationships you foster along the way. Success comes when I can look back and see the positive influence I’ve had, not just for myself, but for the artists, clients, and teams I’ve worked with. Ultimately, it’s about fulfillment—doing what you love, elevating others, and continuing to innovate.
