Today we’d like to introduce you to Carmen Farmer. 

Hi Carmen, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I started Achilles’ Love Body Care at the top of the pandemic- just months after giving birth to my second daughter. Our family, like everyone, was isolated due to quarantine orders, and I found myself caring for everyone in my home with the exception of myself. It was then I decided to take control of my narrative and immerse myself into discovering my passions and interest as a form of self-care. After endless hours of research and development, testing, and formulating, I decided to develop a beauty brand that has truly been a labor of love and a gentle reminder to continue to make time for self-care. 

Over the years, I have been able to grow the brand by networking with other business owners and doing in-person events to personally connect with consumers. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
While I have been blessed to have the opportunities I do, it has not always been easy. As a one-woman show, I have had to build my brand from scratch with limited capital. 

Early challenges included realizing that while I had successfully developed formulas for body care, building a sustainable brand with limited resources would require developing additional skill sets beyond learning to formulate that included a host of skills such as: graphic and web design, photography, marketing, etc.

Achilles’ Love Body Care is an intentional skin and wellness brand whose mission is to create a safe space for your most vulnerable moments.
