Today we’d like to introduce you to Carezzalyn, LynnTheSinger.
Carezzalyn, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
For as long as I can remember I’ve always wanted to sing. I started singing in the choir at church. In high school, I learned how to play the harp and joined the band as a dancer. Writing music was hard for me but performing and playing an instrument came naturally. I stayed comfortable being a part of a group until I wasn’t anymore.
After high school, I graduated from Specs Howard and freelanced as a videographer/editor. Working two jobs and then attending Wayne State University I found myself doing well but wanting more.
Dropping out of college I worked job after job until I became an assistant to a producer. When given a chance to record I free-styled my first song “AYMS” and “Endless Weekends” the ep was born.
With everything I’ve learned, I’ve been able to apply it to my life now. I’m so grateful and evolving every day!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has definitely not been smooth but it has been worth it. My struggles have helped me see what’s more important to me. Dedicating the time to create music and working a 9 to 5 at one point was my biggest struggle. I soon realized if I could work this hard for someone else then I can work just as hard for myself by finding happiness in a career.
Bouncing from studio to studio looking for chemistry within producers and engineers like Jerry Parker, Wavy Davy, Jei Wes, and Dre Butterz solidifying MY sound is now my new “struggle”. Artist Development with Tiffany Renee and Denzel Person has helped with stage performance but this focus of a “signature sound” is keeping me anxious about releasing new music.
My next body of work is titled RECKLESS. This my way of releasing attempts at music not specific to my personal life but to experiences from myself, others or simply wants. I dont want to say continue to say these parts of my career are struggles but instead more lessons for growth and authenticity.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a singer and songwriter. I am proud that I can creatively express myself through my lyrics, visuals, and live performances. What sets me apart from other artists right now is my alternative approach to r&b. My green hair is a staple in my rockstar wardrobe. I am also known as a cannabis connoisseur. I have two award-winning strains “cake bakez” and “13”
What’s next?
My very first concert will be this October at the Aretha Jazz Café!
“KillerzNglitter” is a rave and accessories shoe line, I partnered with my two best friends in hopes of a storefront one day called Detroit Rave.
I plan to win more cannabis cups and open a dispensary/bakery made exclusively with my strains. “CakeBakez” will be the Starbucks of the dispensary. Providing a space to be creatively
productive enjoy cannabis amongst like-minded individuals.

Lynnthesinger is one of the most naturally gifted artist. She taps in to her skill with little effort. She is a uniquely beautiful human being that I find memorizing in every way. Her music has hit after hit that can relate to every person. I have her music on repeat daily.
