Check Out Bogdan’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bogdan.

Hi Bogdan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Believe it or not, I was never interested in politics; not when I lived in Europe and not when I came to the United States in 2011. It just wasn’t something I cared for or something that I personally believed I should allocate any energy towards. Now that I look around me, I can’t imagine how someone could not be involved and try to have a voice. Everything changed for me around 2015-2016 when I slowly started listening to the news outlets, watching political shows on YouTube, and engaging in political discussions on social media.

I remember one-day scrolling through TikTok and there was this video asking people what is one thing they would change if they would hold any office and I decided to stitch it. It was my first ever TikTok video. My take was simple: any immigrant who applies for a Green Card or Citizenship should have to attend a class and learn about The US Constitution, The Bill of Rights, and The Declaration of Independence. And that video literally blew up by the next morning. And then I did another one, and another one, and so on.

About 6 months ago I started sharing my content and views on other social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. I really wish I would have more free time that I could dedicate to more in-depth and longer YouTube videos, after all, Politics is something that one will never run out of things to discuss – especially in today’s political climate in the United States.

Before I knew it, politics became something that I feel very passionate about and I quite enjoy talking about. I genuinely believe we need to facilitate more dialogue and allow ourselves to be exposed to points of view that go against our believes because that is the only way we can develop and grow.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has and it has not been a smooth road. In the beginning, I was just expressing some simplistic views that I had; mostly on immigration and police. However, as may platform grew and I was receiving more and more engagement it became clear to me that I owe it to myself and my followers/subscribers to get more educated on the topics that I was covering. And I think that is my biggest challenge, something that for most is just a memory I have to learn about through research. Also, I feel in today’s day and age there is an increased organic request for conservative content creators, however, we have a duty to be educated on what we are talking about.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My American Journey started in June of 2011, when my best friend and I landed at Logan Airport in Boston, MA. We had no place to live, we had no transportation; all we had was a suitcase, $500 each, and a lined-up job. The first 3 weeks were the hardest because we had to go get our Social Security Cards and wait for them before we could start working; so, between paying rent and food we had to stretch those dollars very carefully. However, once we got our SSNs and were able to start working everything kinda fell into place and the money problems went away slowly. Just a few months after arriving to the US I was hired as temporary help at my current employer. Luckily, I started learning English around 2nd grade so there was no language barrier; but I knew nobody was going to hand me anything, and nobody was going to do me any favors. I knew that I had to work for everything I wanted and I alone was responsible for my own personal & professional development. However, I am grateful to have had extremely supportive colleagues and supervisors that saw what I had to bring to the table, the talent I had, and my dedication and hard work.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Sadly, I do not see the political landscape in the United States changing anytime soon. I genuinely hope in 5-10 years from now to be a more united people than we are today. On a personal level, I look forward to see what the future brings, I definitely have high hopes and high goals and in 5-10 years from now, I hope to be exponentially more politically educated than I am today.
