Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashleigh Hibbit.
Ashleigh, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey has really been a blend of creativity, community, and a desire to help people bring their visions to life. Even as a child, I was drawn to the performing arts. I grew up dancing at Detroit Windsor Dance Academy, where I developed a love for creativity, storytelling, and connecting with an audience. Looking back, I can see that those early experiences shaped the way I show up today through content creation, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
I was also fortunate to grow up surrounded by entrepreneurs in my family. Watching them build businesses and create opportunities inspired me from a young age. I admired the independence, passion, and impact that came with entrepreneurship, even before I fully understood that it was something I wanted for myself.
Professionally, my background started in luxury real estate administration and operations, where I spent years supporting businesses, managing details, and creating systems that helped things run smoothly. Along the way, I discovered my passion for storytelling and digital content, which led me to begin my own social media journey. What started as sharing pieces of my life and encouraging others online eventually grew into a platform where I could combine my creativity, faith, and love for helping others.
From there, I stepped into life coaching, created my podcast “Hey Sis, You Good?”, and continued building a community around personal growth, faith, and purpose. Today, I’m a co-founder of the Detroit Creative Community, a space designed to bring together local creatives, foster collaboration, and provide opportunities for creators to grow. I also recently launched Luxe Admin Agency, where I help businesses with social media management and administrative support so they can focus on what they do best.
When I look at where I am today, I see pieces of every season of my life coming together. The little girl who loved performing, the woman who loved building community, and the entrepreneur who admired her family’s example are all part of the work I’m doing now.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. One thing I’ve learned is that life has a way of amplifying the things we are already working through internally. For me, one of the biggest challenges has been navigating infertility and the emotional weight that comes with that journey.
Infertility impacts so much more than what people see. It can affect you mentally, spiritually, and emotionally, and there were seasons where it heightened my anxiety and caused me to overthink or experience analysis paralysis. That can be especially challenging as a content creator, because building something requires consistency, creativity, and the willingness to keep showing up even when life feels uncertain.
I’ve had to learn to give myself grace and trust that my circumstances do not define my purpose. My faith has been a huge part of that process and has reminded me that growth can still happen in difficult seasons. My amazing husband has also played a great part in pushing me to move past my challenges. He’s truly amazing.
The journey hasn’t been perfect, but it has shaped me into a more compassionate leader, creator, and entrepreneur.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At the core of my work, I’m a storyteller, community builder, and creative entrepreneur. Through my personal brand, Ashleigh LaShawn, I’ve built a space centered around faith, personal growth, creativity, and encouraging women to pursue the next version of themselves.
I also help businesses bring their visions to life through social media strategy, content creation, and administrative support through Luxe Admin Agency. Additionally, as a co-founder of Detroit Creative Community, I’m passionate about creating spaces where local creatives can connect, collaborate, and grow.
What I’m most proud of is being able to turn my creativity and passion for people into work that creates impact. Whether I’m helping a brand find its voice or building a community, I’ve always been intentional about making people feel seen, supported, and empowered.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend creativity, strategy, and genuine connection. I don’t just focus on creating content or completing tasks. I care about the people, stories, and purpose behind the work.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is going to acting camp in New York when I was around 11 or 12 years old. I flew there by myself and made my way to New York for the experience, which was definitely an adventure (and a very different time!).
I remember writing letters home and telling my parents all about camp. The camp focused on healthy eating, so I made sure to let them know that when they picked me up from the airport, I wanted a lemon filled donut waiting for me. And you better believe they had that donut ready exactly as I requested.
Although I didn’t end up pursuing theater or becoming an actress, that creative spark never left me. I still love storytelling, performing, and connecting with people. Just in a different way than I imagined as a child. Looking back, that little girl’s dream definitely wasn’t lost; it just evolved into something new.
