Check Out Angela’s Angels Educational Center’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela’s Angels Educational Center. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Angela’s Angels Educational Center was started over thirty-three years ago, by Angela Reece, B.A. Early Childhood Education. After the lost of her own daughter, who was still born, back in 1989, she never returned back to work, but knew in her heart that she had a calling to educate, offer quality education to families and nurture children. Angela’s Angels Educational Center, mission is to prepare our children for school, while maintaining & enhancing their skills in a safe, clean, & inviting environment. We believe it’s important to build a strong learning foundation early. We also understand that it may be difficult for children to transition from home to school. Her oldest daughter, Ashley Reece, M.A.Ed, a formal elementary school teacher, offers her curriculum expertise, to add a boost in Angela’s Angels, Pre-K educational program. 

They both basically flipped a residence to a state of the art, 5-star educational facility. Our state of the art facility, allows our students to feel at home, while they grow, learn & succeed, with a bright future ahead of them. In 2021, Angela’s Angels received a 5-star quality rating, demonstrating quality, through the Great Start Quality program.

We also provide community service programs, for the youth and their families at our church, The Blessed Community Baptist Church, in Detroit, where Angela’s husband, and Ashley’s dad, Pastor William C. Reece, is the Pastor. We plan to expand and grow our educational program not only for our students, but the community as well. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like any business, there have been a lot of difficult days. The struggle of providing quality service, while dealing with your personal life, financial needs, and more, are all part of the struggle, but anything can be accomplished by staying prayerful and working hard every day. 

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We’re a childcare educational center. 5 star rated, State licensed facility, offering quality nurturing care since 1989. We specialize in infant/toddler care, preschool, kindergarten readiness, creative educational curriculum & much more. 

We’re a Christian based center, taking learning to a higher level & building bright futures for our scholars! Each day we focus not only on the safety/care of our students, but all learning domains of child development. 

Angela Reece has been the director & owner for thirty-two years, she has earned her B.A., in early childhood education. Her oldest daughter, our Assistant Director and lead teacher has earned her M.A., in education. 

Our entire staff has their CDA, CDC & CPR certifications, plus all required state certifications including, infant/toddler care, preschool/kindergarten readiness, health & safety trainings & more. 

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Providing high-quality childcare, because it helps children be more successful not only in school, but over a lifetime, helps them build a bright future.
