Today we’d like to introduce you to Aiden MacDonald-Malcom.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started making music around 2018 or 2019 just for fun, never anything serious. In 2020 when the pandemic had us all inside, me and my boy Kash made one of those same tracks I would make ant the time together and realized this is what we were supposed to do. Since then, we dropped a mixtape, I’ve started a solo career, dropped numerous singles and an 13 track mixtape titled ‘Out of My Reach?’ with another on the way titled ‘Until it Falls’ coming very soon.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been nothing but rocky, but that’s the beauty in it. The entire journey to get where I am now has been getting past everybody remembering the old music and how bad it was. I’m just now proving all of those people wrong 6 years later, finally getting comfortable and understanding what I can really do musically.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I make music. I love music. I create my own, I help other people with theirs if I see and share a vision with them through recording, mixing, and mastering through the company I made with one of my best friends, Ivan Mercer. I used to only make rap but I learned that I like to make everything and learned to love the process of every part of what I do which brought me to a whole new level. Something I’m most proud of with my music is how far I’ve come and all of the potential I learned that I have. This upcoming project has a few songs I think can be hits, and I didn’t even intend for that to be the case. I was just making music by myself and with friends while being true to myself and creating music I want to make and music I want to hear. I stopped caring about what other people would think and started worrying about what I want to make and my direction and mission shifted completely for the better. And of course I care about the fans and people that enjoy what I do, but they enjoy it because they can relate to it, or just feel the same feeling that I felt making it. I think that’s something a lot of people don’t do anymore – making music for yourself – and like I said, I was victim of that too. It’s a lost art for real.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
