Hi Brandon, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: When was the last time you felt true joy?
The last time i felt true joy was just recently, when I went to by myself to Japan for a week. It was the best decision I could’ve ever made.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Brandon Phillips, born in California, but moved to Detroit. I am a creative director, publish entrepreneur that specializes in photo and video as well as graphic design. When I have the camera in my hand I’m known as Kamera Man Kash or Kash and I founded Kash Money Media in 2020

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
Oh easy. Willy J. Peso taught me the most about work. An artist and close friend plus Im his camera man. Me working close with him has gotten me far and into rooms I’ve never thought I’d be in.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
In early 2021, I was robbed and lost everything: my camera, bag, cards, even my jacket. Although a lot was happening, I wasn’t going to stop, and the people around me wouldn’t let me. Working with Willy J. Peso, we went to Atlanta to keep working, and I also purchased a new camera to continue my craft.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, absolutely. I behave the same whether I have my camera or not. My camera is like my phone – I always have it with me.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes, I tend to do that now. I’ve put in so much work and rarely receive praise, so it’s become the norm. While I used to be upset, I’m now content knowing that others recognize and remember my work. Hearing someone I don’t know mention my work, without even knowing I created it, is a unique and satisfying feeling.
