Hi Nicole, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
As cliche as it sounds, reading is my best escape. I’ve read almost 60 books so far this year. Reading helps me forget any and everything going on in my life, even if just for a moment.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Nicole, owner of Smoking hook art. I’ve been experimenting with different mediums for over 10 years and finally found my niche with tapestry crochet.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My papa has always supported me in every step of my art. He’s supported me, encouraged me, and always believed in me.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Most definitely the fear of not being good enough. It’s hindered so many parts of my life and work but I always remind myself that no one is in charge of determining if myself or my work is enough besides myself.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Every single person who thinks of others before they think of themselves. To be truly powerful you have to be selfless in my eyes.
