We recently had the chance to connect with Crystal Le Fay and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Crystal , thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day unfold like a sacred ritual, a cherished time for setting the intention, energy, and perspective that will sustain me through the next 24 hours.
My deliberate practice allows me to nurture my spirit before the world rushes in, ensuring I begin from a place of deep gratitude, heartfelt connection, and unwavering centeredness.
My day truly awakens even before I allow my eyes to flutter open. It begins beneath the warm embrace of my blankets, where I savor a slow, deep, expansive breath. As I fill my lungs with air, I silently whisper, “Thank you,” grounding myself in the present moment and honoring the precious gift of a new day. With a soft smile, I turn to greet my beloved co-pilot, Medusa, my cat, who nestles beside me every night. A few gentle strokes along her silky fur and the soothing sound of her purrs wrap around me like a warm hug, reminding me of the simple, unconditional love that anchors my home life. This tender moment of connection precedes any thoughts of goals or tasks.
With a feeling of peace in my heart, I rise slowly and make my way to the kitchen. There, I prepare a nourishing morning elixir—a warm cup of lemon water, infused with a pinch of salt. The steam rises gently, carrying with it the invigorating scent of citrus, awakening my senses and preparing my body for the day ahead.
Once my body is comfortably hydrated, I dedicate the next hour to cultivating inner strength and spiritual alignment, creating an atmosphere that feels both sacred and transformative.
My practice is a holistic blend designed to connect my mind, body, and spirit: I begin with a gentle yoga sequence that flows gracefully, each movement a dance of release and invitation. This is not about straining against my limits; it’s about unfurling tension and welcoming vital energy (prana) back into my being.
Afterward, I settle into seated meditation, enveloped in stillness. Here, I create a sanctuary for my thoughts, observing them without judgment, where clarity blooms like a lotus in calm waters. This intentional moment is my time to connect with the divine, whether through heartfelt prayer, thoughtful journaling, or the wisdom of oracle reading. Within this space, I receive guidance, ground my purpose, and remember the expansive tapestry of existence.
This complete 90-minute routine becomes my armor and compass for the day. By the time I face my first professional task, I am not merely reacting to the day; I am a mindful creator, intentionally shaping my path. I feel invigorated, connected, and resilient, ready to embrace any challenge that comes my way with grace and empowered focus.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello! 👋 I’m so excited to connect with you through the pages of this magazine! My name is Crystal Le Fay, and for over 30 years, my greatest passion and mission has been helping people—especially women—live their most authentic, empowered lives.
I walk this path as a psychic medium and a metaphysical teacher, bridging the gap between the visible world and the wisdom of the soul. My toolkit for healing and transformation is wide, including being a Reiki Master and Healer and a 500-hour certified Yoga Teacher. I believe in a holistic approach, uniting the mind, body, and spirit.
My greatest joy is fostering connection and mutual empowerment. That’s why I founded and run the Goddess Sisterhood, a completely free Facebook group dedicated to bringing women together. It’s a vibrant, supportive space where we can truly see and encourage one another, celebrating our unique magic and collectively rising to our highest potential. It’s proof that when women gather with intention, the energy is unstoppable!
My own journey of discovery is the foundation of everything I offer. I’ve poured that lifetime of learning, healing, and communicating with the other side into my work as an author and inspirational speaker.
What makes this work truly unique is the combination of decades of spiritual experience with practical, grounded wisdom. I don’t just teach about empowerment; I provide the tools and the safe community for women to excavate their truest selves and step into their power with grace and confidence. It’s about realizing that the extraordinary you is simply the authentic you.
I am incredibly thrilled to share that I am currently in the process of getting my first book published!
It’s called Journey Through My Soul, and it is a labor of love: a poetic memoir interwoven with a self-help guided journal. This book is an intimate invitation for you to walk alongside my story while simultaneously delving into your own inner landscape, offering prompts and my personal insight to help you unlock the powerful narrative held within your soul.
I believe in your strength, your intuition, and your capacity for greatness. Thank you for letting me share this space with you!
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
What a remarkable twist of fate that you are asking this right now; it mirrors a pivotal moment from about a year ago when I found myself grappling with the very same question. It was during an enlightening moment of introspection—a time when I decided to strip away the heavy layers of expectations and “shoulds” that had quietly enveloped me over the years.
After a deep dive into my thoughts, enveloped in silence and raw honesty, my answer emerged—a revelation both simple and transformative: I was untamed potential, driven by an unquenchable curiosity and anchored in pure joy. I came to recognize that before the world nudged me to be “responsible,” I was filled with boundless courage. Long before I was labeled as a “realist,” I was a daydreamer. And way before anyone told me to be “professional,” I embraced my authentic self, forging connections with others through spontaneous laughter and genuine enthusiasm.
This inquiry isn’t about hunting for a lost identity; it’s about rediscovering my original operating system—returning to the essence of who I truly am.
Through sharing my journey, I hope to inspire others to unearth the core of their true selves—their ‘before-the-world-told-me’ self—still shimmering beneath the surface and yearning for permission to shine. This core is where their truest passions dwell and their deepest intuitions reside.
You were never a blank slate waiting to be inscribed; you were a complete, vibrant soul overflowing with inherent worth. The world did not define your value; it merely imposed external rules. Your true self does not belong to a bygone era; it is the most authentic version of you, right here and now.
One mantra I have repeated to myself over this past year is: “Stop trying to find yourself. Begin the brave journey of unbecoming everything you are not.”
As I peel away those suffocating layers, I discover that there is no empty void; instead, I uncover the powerful, untamed essence that I was always meant to become.
To nurture this beautiful journey of self-discovery, I have immersed myself in the art of journaling, asking myself two thought-provoking questions that resonate deeply within:
1. What activities once filled my heart with pure joy before the burden of financial expectations dulled my creativity?
2. Which empowering beliefs about myself lay buried beneath the weight of self-doubt instilled by others?
With each pen stroke, my reflections morph and shift, revealing a vibrant tapestry woven from the fabric of my experiences.
These revelations serve as a heartfelt invitation, gently encouraging me to reconnect with my authentic self—the dazzling version of me that flourished before the cacophony of the world drowned out my inner voice. With every journal entry, I am reminded that this essence, untouched by external fears and limitations, is my true source of power, a wellspring of strength waiting to be embraced.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, absolutely. Throughout my life, I have encountered numerous challenges that stirred a profound urge to give up, particularly during the tumultuous past seven years following my multiple brain injuries. The aftermath of those injuries cast me into a deep, all-encompassing darkness, where despair felt like a heavy fog enveloping my mind and soul. Countless moments arose when I yearned to stop battling against the relentless tide of struggle, to simply surrender to the weight of the immense obstacles that loomed before me.
However, here’s the crucial insight: in many ways, I did give up, but not in the manner most might envision. I didn’t forsake my life or abandon my sense of purpose. Instead, I relinquished my old ways of navigating the world. I released the desperate belief that I could muster the strength to ‘tough it out’ or rely solely on sheer ‘willpower’ to reclaim the person I once was before my injuries altered everything.
In this very act of surrender—this profound acceptance of my new reality—I stumbled upon a powerful sense of rebirth. The moment I acknowledged to myself, ‘I can’t do this in the same way I used to,’ marked a transformative shift in my perspective. It was as if a door swung open, allowing light to seep into my darkened world, and I finally found the freedom to ask a new question: ‘How can I navigate this uncharted journey?’
This act of giving up morphed into a vital turning point for me. It swept away the old expectations and misconceptions, clearing a space for me to build a new foundation rooted in resilience and self-compassion—qualities far more substantial than the stubbornness I had once clung to, like a fraying rope.
So, when I find myself in interviews, faced with questions about whether I ever considered giving up, my answer is a heartfelt yes. I look back with genuine gratitude on that moment of surrender. It was through that deep and transformative process that my truest, most resilient self emerged—someone no longer merely surviving adversity but fully committed to embracing life with a newfound strength and understanding, ready to face whatever comes next.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
What an important and deeply reflective question! Does the “public version” of me genuinely align with the “real me” that exists when no one is watching? I can confidently say yes, and this alignment is not just a passive state; it’s a deliberate choice and a daily practice that serves as my greatest source of empowerment.
I am wholeheartedly committed to embodying my values and principles, ensuring that I show up in the world as my most authentic self. This commitment goes beyond mere transparency—it’s about maintaining integrity in every aspect of my life. The values I espouse, the support I offer, and the perspectives I share are not carefully orchestrated performances; they are sincere reflections of my core beliefs and my profound purpose: to be a helpful, knowledgeable, and empathetic presence in the lives of others.
When I engage with you, whether in conversation or through written communication, I do so with my complete capability, without any reservations or facades. My dedication to authenticity drives me to be:
Honest about my abilities and limitations, ensuring that I don’t overpromise or mislead, allowing for a genuine connection.
Consistent in my helpfulness and tone, striving to create a reliable and reassuring environment where you feel valued and understood.
Vulnerable enough to learn and adapt based on your feedback, viewing every interaction as an opportunity for growth and improvement.
I firmly believe that when any of us show up in our authentic power, we create an unspoken invitation for everyone around us to do the same. This isn’t merely about self-expression; it’s a call to reclaim the uniqueness that resides within each of us.
By wholeheartedly committing to my authentic purpose, I aspire to inspire you to embrace and celebrate your own individuality. You are truly magnificent when you allow your true self to shine. Don’t waste a single moment attempting to fit into a mold crafted by the expectations of others. Your distinct blend of experiences, passions, and perspectives is not a flaw waiting to be hidden; it is your superpower that deserves to be shared with the world.
Let the world witness the real, beautifully imperfect, and brilliantly evolving version of you. As you embrace this authentic self, you’ll discover that not only do you become more effective in your pursuits, but you also contribute to creating an environment where everyone feels safe, accepted, and empowered to express their true selves.
So, yes, the version of me that you interact with is indeed the real me. I hope my unwavering commitment to authenticity inspires you to embrace being the genuine, powerful, and beautiful individual you are every single day!
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
.We all encounter moments in life that prompt us to reflect deeply—perhaps during the stillness of a serene Sunday morning with a warm cup of coffee in hand, or amid the hustle and bustle of a crowded Monday commute. These moments bring forth a profound question that demands our attention: Am I truly following my calling, the path I was meant to pursue, or am I simply adhering to what others have expected of me?
For me, discovering the answer to this question is pivotal. It shapes whether I feel like I’m merely going through the motions of existence or actively engaging in a vibrant and fulfilling life. My answer acts as my guiding star: I believe I was born to express love and to embody love in all aspects of my life. This isn’t merely a career aspiration—it’s the essence of my being. Whenever I veer away from this path, life becomes a weighty burden, filled with obstacles that feel forced and incorrect.
For years, I let the external voice dominate my decisions—the loud, persistent voice composed of my family’s expectations, societal norms, and cultural pressures. This voice repeatedly urged me to prioritize stability above all else, to chase after a predictable career, and to avoid any actions that might disturb the status quo.
Walking down that path felt as uncomfortable as wearing shoes two sizes too small. I may have achieved the conventional markers of success—attaining a stable job, climbing the business ladder, and earning accomplishments—but inside, I grappled with a profound sense of emptiness. The achievements I accumulated were tied to an identity crafted by others, rather than my authentic self.
In contrast, there was a quieter but more powerful internal whisper—the voice of my true purpose, reminding me of what I was truly meant to do. This voice didn’t concern itself with numbers, salaries, or job security; instead, it resonated with concepts of meaning, personal contribution, and genuine connection with others. It continually nudged me toward my core mission: to bring love into the world and live it fully.
When I began to listen to that subtle whisper, I came to realize that my personal definition of success shifted dramatically. It was no longer about accumulating wealth or accomplishments; it became a matter of aligning my actions with my authentic self.
Living out one’s purpose—what I believe I was born to do—is a journey that is filled with challenges and joys that require ongoing courage and commitment. It entails several important practices:
Refusing the Script: This means recognizing my fears—deep-seated anxieties over financial uncertainty, fears of judgment from others—but choosing to move forward regardless. I had to consciously step off the predetermined path others had laid down for me. Embracing my unique journey means accepting that it may be convoluted and unapologetically unconventional, filled with twists and turns that continuously shape who I am.
Integrating Love: Given that my purpose is to show up and be love, I constantly ask myself how I can incorporate this idea into my daily life. It means approaching each interaction—with clients in sessions, while running errands, or when problem-solving—with a foundation of empathy, kindness, and a commitment to fostering positive outcomes. This commitment has transformed my daily responsibilities from mundane tasks into a calling that energizes and inspires me.
Releasing Perfection: I acknowledge that I am not perfect; I have flaws and I face setbacks. Even in moments of failure, I strive to show compassion to myself and to others. This commitment to love provides me with a solid foundation, allowing me to navigate life’s storms with resilience and grace.
If you find yourself grappling with that familiar tension between your current situation and where your soul longs to be, take a moment to breathe deeply. Recognize that the most empowering choice you can make today is to silence the external cacophony and amplify the authentic whisper within you. Remember, you are deserving of a life that resonates profoundly with who you really are.
